Curt purchased this House in 1997
Why Curt chose North East
I bought this property 20 years ago, by a stroke of luck , as a personal remodeling project, and to have a place on the Bay. This home was built to share with friends and family. It is versatile, sleeping up to 15 in a pinch, and offers many outlets for games, entertainment, and exploring the Elk Neck peninsula. It feels wonderfully remote, but is only a little over an hour from both Philadelphia and Baltimore, under 2 hours to Washington DC, and under 3 hours to NYC. It also is under an hour from the heart of PA Dutch country, and a little more to the Delaware shore points. So in addition to being just fine for cocooning, it makes a very convenient logistical location for all sorts of road trip adventures up and down the Mid Atlantic Coast.
What makes this House unique
Love the notion that we can walk down to the pier and hop on a boat and go anywhere in the world that boats go. Am also very pleased with all the bay views that can be had from the guest room, the kitchen, the sunroom, the living room, the master bedroom, the loft, and the hot tub! It's very nice to hear of grandparents sitting on the porch or in the sunroom, while the parents sit on the bluff keeping an eye on the kids out in the water-three generations enjoying the place from different vantage points. I very much like sharing the home with families and groups of friends.

Adventure on the River
The family had adventure after adventure staying on the Elk from floating in the Oasis tube with big waves to kayaking on the River. You get the deer, eagles, and Osprey to go along with beautiful sunset.s. We had plenty of room for family of 8.
Great getaway on the water
Our family really enjoyed our stay on the upper Chesapeake. Very peaceful place - loved watching the hummingbirds, Osprey, swallows, boats parade up and down the river, sitting on the dock.
The kids love jumping off the dock and trying out the kayak, johnboat, and particularly the huge inflated island!
Adjacent to the Elk Neck State Park on the Elk Neck peninsula, 2 miles north of the Turkey Point Lighthouse.
