About Mark and Tori Knight
Married for 18 years. Love time up in the mountains and by the beach in magical Southern California.
Mark and Tori Knight purchased this House in 2010
Why Mark and Tori Knight chose Lake Arrowhead
Gorgeous area of Lake Arrowhead called Blue Jay. The cabin has breath taking views off two decks that reminded me of my families cabin growing up. The wood work and the stone work on the interior were partially completed but we could see the vision of where the prior owner was taking it before he lost it in a foreclosure and we continued that restoration journey over several years. We installed all the river rock walls and 3 magical winding stair cases of granite to frame the property. We finished all the cherry wood beams and ordered custom solid cherry wood doors from Ohio. We loved the local amenities in Arrowhead, lake rights and the property is very secluded giving you a sense of really being away from it all. The stars at night by the fire place are quite magical.

Lovely home, will be back again!
This is our second visit to this home and we love it so much we will absolutely return again. Beautiful views, excellent amenities, super clean and wonderful space.
Relaxing & Gorgeous!!
This couldn't have been more perfect for what we were looking for. Mark & Tori were great hosts, and their home was fabulous. A little tricky to find, however Mark & Tori have great instructions on how to find it. We would definitely like to stay again if the opportunity arises. The entire house was nice, cozy, and had everything you would need. Jacuzzi was our favorite, and along with the outside fire pit made for a cozy evening. Definitely satisfied with our stay, and of course didn't want to leave.
Watched by cameras and called me a liar
It was supposed to be a nice weekend with my family in the snowy mountains, but it turned to a nightmare. We were watched, possibly recorded, through a camera while in the Jacuzzi, I’ve been called a liar, and our deposit was taken as well.
We arrived at the house on Friday and had 4 adults and 1 child. The house was sleeping 6 people, according to the VRBO page. We immediately noticed the cameras around the house, in the front and at the back too, where the Jacuzzi is located. Saturday morning another family came up the mountains and wanted to spend the night with us. I immediately called the owner and talked to Mark to ask permission. With the other family, our headcount was 6 adults and 2 children. I was honest and upfront with him did not lie, although they called me a liar in their e-mail after the fact. He told me we have until 10 pm and our friends need to leave because we will exceed the maximum of 6 that are allowed in the house. After our conversation, my husband spent 2 hours trying to find a room in a motel or hotel, but unfortunately, everything was booked. When he exhausted all of our options we also noted, that the cameras in the front and on the back were turned on. I specifically told Mark, that I don’t like to be recorded while in the Jacuzzi, yet they did turn it on. We did not give permission for them to watch us. I was really upset and didn’t sleep all night. So it was 6 adults and 2 children spending the night there, quietly, and went to bed at 10 so we wouldn’t cause any problems to the neighbors. After we returned I’ve received an e-mail from the owners that I lied about the headcount and they will make a complaint about me to VRBO. Well, I didn’t think that 2 children were that big of a deal, but according to the owners, there were. They took our deposit, while they had cameras on all over the property (not in the agreement anywhere). The Jacuzzi also had all kind of problems like the filter needed replacement and the water needed to be drained. I suggest everyone take pictures at your arrival of everything you find, so they can’t say you broke it or you did something wrong. So if you don't like being watched during your vacation, stay away!
I am sorry, but your review is incorrect. Upon arrival you immediately contacted us to complain about the security system. Which does not point at the Jacuzzi but rather the front and rear steps leading from the road. This allows us to know whether snow needs to be cleared. We have had no other guests have a concern about this. We could not understand your stressed tone. We gave you advice and tips whenever you asked of where to go as well as using the cabin throughout your stay.
On Sunday strangely, you called to request that a second family also stay at the cabin. We explained you would be then violating San Bernadino max occupancy codes and jeopardizing our license should a neighbor complain. However, this prompted us to call our neighbor and they confirmed you had been using the cabin as a party house all weekend with multiple people outside of the reservation- hence your concern that we would see what you were up to (obviously we couldn’t considering we said nothing all weekend). You ignored us telling you that no additional guests could stay and we could lose our license. The Jacuzzi was filthy upon you checking out and had to be drained due to so many people not washing off and getting in and out of the tub. In the future please be honest to hosts and rent a cabin that is the appropriate size for your party.
There was snow on the ground and the jacuzzi was hot enough to get in even at night, it was beautiful
Good experience, until they kept hundreds of our deposit
The place is as advertised on the reviews. They claimed we messed up a "antique" hanger. It was broken when we got there. Also, claimed we damaged a door handle. Maybe, it was hard to open and close. My main issue is they kept more than the damage and there is nothing we can do about their unilateral decision to blame us for the already damaged hanger. Also, the jacuzzi needed a scrubbing. Oh, and you are being watched. Neither of these issues were a big deal for us. The kept deposit was a big deal. Notice, I am being fair and not going with the predictable one star because it was a great experience up until the deposit situation.
In a world of its own!
We stayed at this beautiful home for my boyfriends birthday. We barely left the deck. Ate all our meals out there, sat by the fireplace while listening to Pandora on the homes outdoor sound system. Made S'mores and sipped wine that the hosts left us. Bring lounge wear, a warm sweater and enjoy a romantic getaway! We hope to return! Thanks Torrie and Mark for being available and so helpful. The owners are a text away! Highly recommend this spotless, updated lovely home! My boyfriend said to give this 6 stares!
Jensons is the gourmet grocery store on the mountain with a great selection of wine and cheeses, Stater Brothers has delicious bacon and burgers. We love Antlers Inn for Brunch on Sunday - 15 types of Benedict, Stone Creek Bristro for dinner and Lou and Eddie's for amazing pizza.
Santa's Village recently reopened year round. It is a bit pricy but the kids love it.
