In tranquil West Linn, welcome to our forest hideaway--your home base to northwest fun! We are located 30 minutes from the Portland airport, 30 minutes from downtown Portland, and 45 minutes from outstanding wineries. The guest apartment occupies the entire second floor of our 3-story house, with its own outside entrance and private attached deck that looks out into a mature stand of Douglas fir trees and looks down into a beautiful landscaped garden complete with treehouse! Park in the street level driveway and walk down outside stairs to your secluded home away from home. The owners live on the floor above (at street level) and are there to help if needed, but fully respectful of your privacy during your stay.
The living room has a flat screen television with cable TV, a pool table, leather sofa plus two large chairs and ottoman. The small kitchenette has a microwave, a countertop oven, Keurig coffee maker, hot water pot, and comes with a full set of dishes, glasses and utensils for small meals as you choose.
There are two spacious bedrooms. You'll see outstanding sunrises and beautiful star-filled skies from the first bedroom with its large windows that look east out into the forest. This bedroom has a king bed. The second bedroom with two windows looking north, has a more secluded feel with a queen bed and a single bed. The bedrooms share the full bath, with the toilet and shower/bath area separated from the sink/mirror area by a door. The second bedroom has a flat screen television with cable service. Additional amenities include private driveway parking and access to washer and dryer.
A lower garden and deck is accessible via outside steps around the house. A staircase leads down to a wonderful treehouse, which you cross a rope bridge to enter.
If you love nature, it is a 10 minute walk to the Williamette River and Mary S. Young Park, or in the opposite direction, a 10 minute walk to Wilderness Park and Camassia Nature Preserve, managed by the Nature Conservancy. A playground is a block away, and has its own path through the forest, with bridges over the stream.
West Linn is a delightful village, with award winning restaurants and small shops. Lake Oswego is very close and has restaurants surrounding the lake, a movie theatre, and more.
