About Michelle Eagle
Deerhaven guest Cottage, Grizzly Rose guest Cottage and the Bears Den studio apartment are located at Ravensnest. The property was originally owned by my parents and is considered our home place. I purchased it in 1989 from my parents and I have created an incredible Spirit of place. My parents both worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and dedicated their lives to working on Native Reservations. They were both detailed to Mescalero Apache Reservation. The home was vacant and decided to purchase and created my incredible space. I have dedicated 30 years working in the Arctic Circle helping to provide dental services to the Native Children. I am honored and humbled by my work and am profoundly greatful for the that opportunity.

Why Michelle Eagle chose Cortez
Ravensnest is situated between the backside of Mesa Verde and the front view of the Sleeping Ute Mountain in the valley south of Cortez. Panoramic views of the entire Valley can be seen on the property. Magical sunsets and superb stargazing can be seen while enjoying your spiritual retreat.
What makes this Cottage unique
Ravensnest has a labyrinth, a traditional medicine wheel, and a ceremonial tipi. There is a shrine, reflecting ponds, koi ponds and peace gardens to connect to the universe.

We felt like part of the family
From the moment we arrived, Michelle went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
She thought of everything, in order to make the cozy little cottage into a place we could love. The place was stocked with snacks and treats that we could enjoy. The decorations were fun and whimsical. (I love the cat pictures in the bathroom.) There were even tissues in the every room, which was wonderful when my wife came down with a cold while we were there.
One of our days we arrived back at the cottage after doing some adventuring, and she happened to be outside baking bread in her outdoor oven. She offered us half a loaf! It was amazing.
The grounds were beautiful, and made for a wonderful Sunday afternoon walk.
Overall, Michelle goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. If I'm ever in the area, I would love to stay here again.
I enjoyed meeting you both. Thank you for choosing to stay at Ravensnest. Hope you had a wonderful birthday!
We truly enjoyed our stay at this property. The patio had a great scenic overlook. The water feature and yard art added to the charm. The accommodations were welcoming and Michelle has thought of everything for your stay. The stained glass throughout the cottage was a wonderful surprise!

Wonderful, peaceful place!
Michelle is a great host! We all felt very cared for in a very clean cottage. We used the picnic table as our dining room and comfy outdoor furniture as our living room.
Great space! Very clean and well equipped for all our needs
We had a great experience at grizzly roadhouse. The owners have us a call the day of arrival to inform us of some damage done to our cabin by an early morning storm. We were upgraded to a bigger cabin and then met in person to give a tour. The cabin was fantastic! Loved the view of sleeping ute as well. We would recommend grizzly roadhouse to anyone planning to stay in the Cortez area.
Thank you for choosing to stay at Grizzly Roadhouse. I sincerely appreciate your kindness. Please come back❤
Wonderful - love this property.
Michelle Eagle the owner of this property is a gem. She met us when we arrive (early) - made sure we had everything we needed and saw us before we left. Stayed two nights - wish it had been 3 or 4. Cute - two bedroom - two BA cottage - perfect for 2 couples. Great outside eating and relaxing space under the covered porch. Enjoyed a walk around her 25 acre property. Close to town of Cortez and grocery - we cooked the evenings we were there. Recommend highly. Neat - clean - comfortable - Michelle treated us like family. Easy drive to Mesa Verde which 3 or the 4 visited. I read one of the many books Michelle provided in the cottage.
