We had a fabulous time staying in this cabin! The host thought of everything- there are many things provided that you won’t find elsewhere! She also gave us so many awesome recommendations for places to go and things to do. She was very easy to communicate with as well. Our kids were enthralled with the frog & fish pond and the very tame and entertaining chipmunks! They also loved the loft area and quickly claimed it for themselves. We had a fantastic time here exploring the area and would highly recommend this property to everyone!
Our family of 5 had a wonderful time! The accommodations were exactly as described plus more. The home is picturesque. The location is beautiful and close to everything. We could have easily stayed another week and still had many adventures undone. Can’t say enough about the home and location! It was perfect! Tricia was a wonderful host as well! Great and efficient check in and I felt comfortable that I could contact her by txt or cell with any questions.
Past it’s prime...
The house was probably once a pretty place. But we found the home dirty. Cobwebs so big in the stairway you couldn’t miss them. Window screens also covered in webs. Every bathroom towel was sour and smelled... even “fresh” from the linen closet. The outside yard was a shambled mess. The poor fish that has to live in that pond covered in inches of disgusting scum. Tarps covering random piles of debris, tin cans scattered, fence practically falling down and outside chairs either broken or so dirty you wouldn’t want to sit in them. Not to mention the metal shed practically falling down.
On the surface and in the pics the place looks nice, but it has been maintained at a minimum only. Needs a deep cleaning and yard picked up and cleaned up.
Working with the home owner was helpful except at check in. She has a “meet you for check in” policy despite giving you a checkin time and house code. Wanted text messages 30 minutes before arriving. Then multiple texts back and forth because her schedule was busy, running late, etc. I found this aggravating as we were on vacation. Her busy schedule was not our problem. Once she met us at the house she didn’t cover anything that hadn’t been shared in emails.
When we arrived the house was freezing!! When we asked her about turning up the heat, she showed us the thermostat but then said we should just open the slider doors as it was 70 outside. Her email instructions also indicated the thermostat is best set at 65 which is cold. Definitely made us feel we should not use it.
We had a good trip despite the issues at the house... we did turn up the heat, ignored the cobwebs every where and dug threw towels to find the least stinky of stinky. I think for the rate of this property you could do better elsewhere.
My most sincere apologies that you didn't experience the accommodations to be first rate and that my efforts to accommodate an earlier check-in for you were aggravating. As it was I did arrive before the 4pm agreed upon check-in time, but not before you arrived and had entered the house. I plan to arrive before my guests so that I can get the heat turned up and lights on for a warm welcome. I keep the heat set lower when the house isn't occupied in order to conserve energy, but I encourage guests to set the heat at whatever temperature makes them comfortable.
We have had any extremely slow spring this year and the pond and yard have only just emerged from deep snow as the just opening daffodils the day of your arrival were testament. The tarps you mentioned are to cover wood for the campfire and woodstove and are well away from the house. Our poor shed was hit by a tree the week before you arrived and we had just managed to get the tree removed. Thank you for alerting me to the towels. I had just put out brand new prewashed towels on the towel bars and I had not received any notification from other guests that any of the towels were an issue. I always encourage guests to contact me at anytime to answer questions or make their stay more comfortable. Thank you again for your feedback and I do hope your trip overall was enjoyable.
Spring break 2019
This cabin was perfect for my family spring vacation. The cabin was equipped with everything, even fresh cut fire wood. The views from every window were beautiful in every room. Location to the dunes and M22 was ideal for exploring the lakeshore.
The cabin was absolutely idyllic and dreamy! Definitely one of the best weekends of our lives!
