This cottage is AMAZING!
So clean and comfortable we will be staying here again. The owners are super nice and provide everything you could possibly need for your stay. The lake is Crystal clear and the kyaks and boat we're ready to use the second we got there. If you are looking for a nice quiet relaxing place to stay that is clean and comfortable, this is the place to stay. Not to mention the fishing was pretty good too! We can't wait till next season to go back.
Beautiful home and well kept . Friendly neighbors . Quiet lake with good fishing .
Peaceful and quiet , daily loon serenades . Easy access to the boat ramp if you choose to bring your own , but kayak and boat are provided with a beautiful deck . Love the wrap around porch .
Bonus for the home was a dishwasher and laundry facilities .
Charles and Myra are lovely gracious hosts and welcomed us like family. The cottage is even nicer in person. The kitchen is well stocked with pans, pots, seasonings ect, there is a washer, dryer microwave and dishwasher and the property is lovely. We were also pleasantly surprised to have a pretty strong wireless signal and cell phone reception. The house comes with a aluminum fishing boat with motor which is nearly impossible to find with a home away rental. The fishing was wonderful and the view during sunrise and sunset from the boat was stunning. The cottage has a warm feel, is airy and welcoming. The upper porch is lovely for sipping tea and watching the sunset. We were so happy there that we immoderately checked their calendar when we got home to see if we could squeeze in another visit into our summer schedule when the house is open. Thanks so much for a wonderful trip!!
Excelent attention to details
A "Home Away From Home"
My husband and I spent a week in November 2006 at this cottage on the lake. We were greeted by the lovely scent of a Maine Blueberry candle burning on the stove, the freshness of clean linens and a loaf of home baked bread.
The cottage is well equipped with the essentials for cooking and baking, not to mention nice extras such as spices etc. The owners are very gracious and were able to offer us tips on where to visit and how to get there. The woodstove in the kitchen made for nice cozy nights and the owners supplied more than enough firewood. We will be returning to Maine this autumn and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.
Great fishing opportunities right on the lake. Bring your own fishing gear. We provide a canoe and paddles, boat and small motor at no extra charge. Lots of wildlife here; Loons, eagles, ospreys, song birds and squirrels. Only 1 1/2 hrs Baxter State Park near river rafting, moose watching, hiking Mt. Katahdin, etc. Less than 2 hrs. to coastal Maine (Acadia Nat'l Park) for whale watching, Maine 'Lobstah', etc. Less than 100 miles from Canadian border. Calais, St. Stephen (NB), Maritime Provinces. Nearest town is the village of Lee. Lee has a post office, small diner/ store that sells gas & diesel, museum, flea market, and churches. Lincoln (9 miles away) has Wal*Mart, Hannaford Super market, Rite-Aid, hospital with ER, restaurants, churches, craft shops, gift shops, car rentals, auto repair, etc.
