About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, with Huge Ocean View (Sleeps 9)

Gorgeous, architect designed, 4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath custom home with a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. You can literally see 25 miles of coastline from Crescent City, CA to Bird Rock at Harris Beach State Park in Brookings, OR as well as the Chetco River Bridge, Brookings Harbor and jetty, and at night you have the twinkle lights of downtown Brookings to complete your 24 hour view!

10 foot ceilings and architectural elements make this house stunning! Brazilian cherry hardwood flooring, travertine tile and Karastan carpeting make it elegant; and the bold color scheme makes it memorable! This home includes a 6 foot Jacuzzi spa tub in the Master Suite - lovely king bed, separate travertine shower, walk-in closet and incredible ocean view. Huge gourmet kitchen - including convection range, all appliances, 2 sink areas, large island, all "blue pearl" granite countertops, and stocked with staple items like coffee beans, cereal and orange juice. Gorgeous formal dining room - new solid cherry dining table and 8 leather upholstered chairs. Great Room - comfortable sofa and loveseat, granite gas fireplace and a bird's eye view of the Pacific Ocean and town, 42" plasma tv, vcr, walk out onto one of the large covered decks with glass rails. Guest Bedroom Suite - sumptuous queen bed, own bath with tub/shower and granite sink, ocean view. Activity room - foosball table, granite surround fireplace, puzzles, games, sofa/loveseat, large deck and ocean view. Two more bedrooms - Queen/twin, and 2 twin beds, tastefully decorated, ocean views and share a bath with tub/shower and granite sink/vanity area. The upstairs deck has a large gas BBQ grill.

You really can see it all from our Bird's Eye View!

The Chetco River in Brookings is a world class salmon fishing river. Brookings Harbor is a boating "safe harbor" with excellent crabbing. Salmon Run Golf Course is less than 5 miles away. The giant Sequoia redwoods are close by and the town of Brookings is just down the hill in front of you. There are excellent seafood restaurants and fresh seafood markets close by. There are many interesting shops and an antiques mall to explore. The local open air farmer's market is fun. Whale watching, sea and river fishing excursions are available locally and thrilling jet boat rides run on the Rogue River in nearby Gold Beach. The huge old fashioned 4th of July fireworks display over the harbor is awesome! Hike, bike or just come relax in this beautiful, friendly part of the world. The sunsets over the Pacific are spectacular year round!

Other nearby attractions: Lucky 7 Casino, Azalea Park, bowling alley, movie theatre, horseback riding, beach combing and shelling, surfing, sailing, kayaking, and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails.

About Wendy Weitzel

In 2006 I helped design and build and held on when told to sell BEV. My fun Brookings beach house. When I first came up to this hilltop knoll overlooking the whole town, a huge hawk was gliding around on the wind currents without a single flap of it's wings. I realized I had a Bird's Eye View. I have a couple of kids, millennials, I love and care for deeply, most are Trojans. An AQHA colt Buckwheat, a rascal old dog Berry and MyV. I love to travel! Love to stay in vrbo.com places :D Love my garden; love my friends and critters; love God. Peace, love and brown rice. W

What makes this house unique

This special place is big enough to accommodate several generations of family or a special group of friends who want to be together but also have the space to have some privacy. The amazing Pacific Ocean views from every room and especially at night when the houses on the beach look out at a dark ocean, BEV still offers you a fantastic view. Sometimes the beach is foggy and here we are above the fog for a beautiful sunset. Quiet, safe, upscale neighborhood where deer and quail abound. Decor is elegant, and beach modern.

Great home with large kithchen and great view

  • 5 of 5

One of the first things you will notice about the property is the stunning view, then you become aware of the functionality and warmth of this home. Everything seems very roomy, and the kitchen with large island makes it convenient to prepare food and accommodate up to 12 people easily. It is also great for day trips up and down the coast or to Redwood groves which are very close by. The owner is very nice, accommodating and pleasant to talk to over the phone, making you feel at ease as soon as you arrive. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

Everything is good here now!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. Nice house but there was a leak under the sink in the kitchen. We fixed that and also something wasn't right with the garbage disposal in the kitchen sink. The housekeeper told us not to use it. Another thing fixed. Good thing we are all ex contractors & can figure out what is causing the fixture not to work. Simple fixes they were.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for fixing those John !! I have had 2 appointments with plumbers and both times were "no show". I wish all contractors were as reliable as you guys are !! :D

Relaxing Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Thanks Wendy! This is such a great house way up on a hill overlooking Brookings. The house is not terribly hard to find but it is very high on the hill. There is enough space for any size group and every room has a tremendous view. There are no curtains or blinds on any of the windows which is a little odd, especially in the bedrooms. However, since there are not really any close homes, it really isn't a privacy issue.

Perfect Girlfriends Weekend

  • 5 of 5

I booked this house for a weekend getaway for 12 members of service organization in Grants Pass. The house is perfect for large groups with 4 bedrooms that sleep 8, 2 couches and room for blowup mattresses in the downstairs game room. The dining table seats 10 and we put a small table on the end to expand for 12. The kitchen is a dream and huge, allowing us to prepare meals with ease. Seating for 5 in the great room, but with 4 stools at the bar in the adjacent kitchen and a couple dining chairs - we made it work. The house/linens/kitchen/bath are very upscale and immaculate. Parking for 4 cars ( the garage was locked and not available) was pretty tight - a chore to turn around as backing down the long drive was not an option. The view from the house and covered decks was gorgeous and sunset were stunning. A short drive to the beach, shopping and restaurants - then back up the hill to paradise.
