Excellent location with reasonable comfort
Edinburgh Sightseeing and Marathon 2019
The quirky apartment is ideally sighted just 2 minutes walk away from the start of the Edinburgh Marathon.
A delightful well maintained and comfortable apartment. The upstairs en-suite bedroom was very comfortable and the main lounge with a separate cloakroom ideal.
Heather sent us accurate and easy to understand entry instructions as due to out late flight meant she couldn't be there to greet us. Instead we were greeted by a box of Shortbread and two bottles of highland spring.
The location is also ideal for sightseeing. Buses to the Royal Yacht Britannia are just minutes away. The Royal Mile within very easy walking distance with the castle and one end and Holyrood Palace at the other.
We can not recommend this apartment enough and would certainly return for more exploring of this glorious city.
Time in Edinburgh
Property is in a great location for walking anywhere you wish, train station, Royal Mile, bus to airport, Edinburgh Castle, museums. Generally is quiet. Kitchen is nice and was convenient to have a bathroom on each floor. I would suggest new couches. Really uncomfortable to sleep on and very low to ground if sitting on couch. Owner was very quick to respond to questions.
Great place to stay & Perfect location
We loved this one bedroom condo. It had everything we needed, plus the location was perfect. It's very close to the Royal Mile, the Castle, the Holyrood Palace, the train station and lots and lots of bars and restaurants. The kitchen was well equipped, including with a clothes washer, which we made use of. It was perfect for us and we thank Heather, who was a very responsive host, for her hospitality.
Great apartment, great location
Great location for the city centre attractions, bars and restaurants, all within walking distance. For cooking, the kitchen is well equipped and there’s a Tesco round the corner. The shower was hot, the bed comfortable, the bedroom quiet and we slept well. We never heard anyone else in the building. Perhaps lacking that little bit of comfort / homely feel in the lounge but this is minor and we still award five stars.
Great location to Old Town.
Place was great. Very clean and the owner was awesome. When I had questions she was quick to reply. Great location to Old Town.
The apartment is situated in a newly refurbished 19th Century Schoolhouse on Drummond Street, located in the popular Old Town which has a variety of cafes, bars and restaurants.
This is an ideal position for the Festival Theatre, the National Museum of Scotland, the Pleasance and numerous Festival and 'Fringe' venues.
Waverley train station and the Royal Mile, with Edinburgh Castle at the top and Holyrood Palace at the bottom are also within a 10 minute walk, along with the famous Greyfriars Bobby and the Grassmarket.
Various Art Galleries, Arthur's Seat, Princes Street and the Royal Commonwealth Pool are also within easy walking distance.
For rugby international weekends, buses (nos. 48 and 31) can be taken from North Bridge, just a few minutes walk from the apartment, directly to Murrayfield Stadium.
Transport links are excellent, with the apartment close to several main bus routes which access most areas of the city and beyond. Waverley Train Station which links you to the rest of Scotland is a short walk. Train journey times to Glasgow, host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games are approximately 55 minutes and depart every half hour. The city bypass and motorway networks can be accessed easily by car.
