Fabulous oceanfront location in North Carolina's Outer Banks. 5 bedroom home plus loft. Sleeps 11-13 . My home was closed this winter for renovations to 80% of the home, including all new bathrooms, new furniture, flooring, fixtures, etc.!

This home has a hot tub, a children's bedroom , two King bedrooms, two Queen bedrooms , fairly new decks , a fifth bedroom, and premium siding,

About Morry El-Badry

I live in Maine with my wife and 4 small children whom I have taken, along with two big dogs, to vacation at this house.

Morry El-Badry purchased this house in 2003

Why Morry El-Badry chose Outer Banks

Beautiful outdoors area with lots of things to do with the family.

What makes this house unique

This is a great family vacation destination. There are lots of activities in the area, a great, uncrowded beach, and lots of nature.

We enjoyed our stay very much . The house was beautifully decorated and very comfortable . There was plenty of room and we enjoyed the hot tub and the grill . I appreciated the no hassle communication with the owner .

He was very kind to me . The beds were made and the towels were clean and ready to use even though I booked on a late notice . The short walk to the beach was perfect . Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home .

This house was everything advertised and more. the drive up the beach was long but well worth the trip! Low tide is definatley the best time to travel but I didn't have much trouble having to go up higher on the beach if the tide was coming in. I would suggest if you drive higher on the beach (closer to the dunes) in the softer sand that you do let air out of your tires, 20 psi is plenty to keep you from getting stuck and ALWAYS use 4 wheel drive. I had not taken a vaction in probably 5 years and this was a great way to get back into the swing of things. I am planning on a return trip next year! Also, the 2 individuals over seeing the propery during my stay were terrific, any time I had a question or needed anything they were just a phone call away and they came over within a few hours to deal with any problem or concern. This is a great house to rent if you have a dog(s), a short trip over the dune to the beach and you are at the water. The porches have great views and the steps can be easily blocked off with a baby gate so the pooches can hang out on the deck without escaping into the yard or like mine would have done, if given the chance: Head to the ocean for a swim that they never could get enough of! Terrific place can not say enough good things! Looking forward to my next visit!

Nice enough

We had a pretty decent time in spite of some circumstances that arose during our stay. There was no propane grill like the pictures, comments, and ad suggested. There was a very small 'beach type grill' by the hot tub. With no lid and the wind blowing cold winter air, you can't really cook on it. I emailed the owner and he offered to reimburse us for renting one. I accepted that offer and got a very hateful lecture via email from him with things like 'just because you saw a picture of a green couch doesn't mean you'll have one there'. There was no rental grill available in the off season. (Almost everything was closed in the area) There is a grill there now...we went out and bought one at the Walmart which is a long ways AFTER you drive the 9.25 miles on the beach just to get to an actual road. Stressful drive on the beach! We had to spend way too much time messing with a grill that should've been there. Two days later my uncle passed away and my family asked me to minister at the funeral. We packed up and left. I again emailed the owner only to receive another hateful lecture about him "not taking the full financial blow for my uncle's passing when I could've had trip insurance". He offered us an off season weekend(no number of days specified) for not much of a discounted rate. He said this house was popular in winter. The ENTIRE area was deserted...we saw almost no one. Hmm. We won't be accepting the offer for the weekend. He will have a reply for this review, make your own decision. I could say much more but I won't. Very dissatisfied.

Owner's Response: Yes, let's let the reader reach their own conclusions. Below are direct email quotes from messages sent from this very "dissatisfied guest". I will be more than happy to send anyone the complete email trail upon request. "We love your beach house! The ride in on the beach was excellent and we saw a wild horse right before dark. "We LOVE your house and it's location. Fantastic. Thanks for your assistance." "Thanks for your prompt response, I really appreciate it." "We have really enjoyed the house so thank you" As for having a gas grill, contrary to what he said, I don't advertise the home as having one. Yes, one of the older pictures shows one on the deck way in the background, which is why I sent the guest $100 (which he doesn't mention), because I don't want to be misleading. What follows is my full email explaining my position and immediately offering to provide him with one. Please decide whether this is "hateful speech": "I did have a propane grill but then converted almost a year ago to a charcoal park grill because the gas grills barely last a year in this climate (salt).  I updated the listing around then to remove the gas grill and reflect the charcoal grill.  There is a charcoal grill outside.  If you find that isn't adequate, I will pay for you to rent one for the rest of the week, as I certainly don't want to be misleading, but I think you can understand why I switched." He also doesn't mention that as a courtesy to a man of his profession, I waived the pet fee, without him even asking. As for his having to leave early due to his very unfortunate personal circumstances that were entirely beyond my control and that he didn't buy insurance for, he seemed to think I should be entirely financially responsible. I tried to be nice and offered him another weekend only for the cost of cleaning-a 70% discount! I thought and still feel that was very fair. Last, just because the area is "deserted" in winter doesn't mean my house is. It is very popular, especially after the whole house renovations. Unfortunately, this gentleman was fixated on having a gas grill even though none is advertised as being there. I offered to reimburse him to rent one, and even sent him $100 for this, just so he wouldn't feel mislead. He also insisted I bear the cost of him leaving early and didn't like my generous offer. He also seems to have forgotten my waiving his pet fee as a courtesy. Please note this review is unlike any of my other outstanding reviews.

A magical place where for family and friends to gather.

  • 4 of 5

Love the ride on the beach and enjoyed teaching our kids to drive the jeep in the sand. The house had plenty of space for our group of 8 with a dog. We even had a bedroom to spare. We had many wild horse and dolphin sightings and even an amazing heron in flight in front in the deck.

The house was great but there were a few things to mention that could improve future experiences. The cookware was dirty in the cupboards (they had gone through dishwasher-but still needed to be scrubbed) and were not easy to use as the lids to pots were not stored in the same location. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook everything from grits to shrimp scampi but I am sure we left the dishes in much cleaner condition than the last renters including washing all of the oven mitts. I love this house but wish I did not notice the layers of dust on the ceiling fan in the main living room or items under the beds left by previous renters. I would love to give this rental 5 stars but cannot due to cleanliness. Also, the house lacked a set of wine glasses and could use updated flatware.

The owner was very easy to work with and the property manager was responsive to our questions. Overall, a fabulous adventure.

Great house! Nicely decorated with new furniture.

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful experience, owner very responsive. New furniture and newly remodeled. Beds and furniture comfortable. Well- Equipped kitchen. Nice fireplace for a winter getaway. My only wish would be to have a broader view of the ocean from the main floor, as the dune blocks most of the view. You do have a nice view from the loft though.
