Beautiful secluded 1450-square-foot mountain home, one of only a handful of private homes -- and the only vacation rental -- located within the Arapaho National Forest, adjacent to the Mount Evans Wilderness Area and close to Echo Lake and Mt. Evans. Hike, cross-country ski, sled, explore, or just relax and take in the million dollar views without leaving the property or getting into a car. Across the well-maintained access road -- Colorado Scenic Highway 103 -- are more Forest Service trails and roads for hiking, snow-shoeing, or cross-country skiing. These trails lead to Mount Evans and the Mount Evans Wilderness Area. The house is privately situated on 16 acres and you cannot see another house or the road from this house or its two decks. Chicago Creek runs through the property for half a mile, providing private views and fishing. Children will love to roam the woods and make forts in the summer or snowmen in the winter. We have a great sledding hill for youngsters, older kids practice snowboarding on the rails we put up in winter. If you do want to get away, it is only 12 minutes to brew pubs and restaurants in historic and charming Idaho Springs and I-70. From the house, it is 45 minutes to downtown Denver in one direction, or 45 minutes to the top of the Continental Divide in the other direction. Loveland Ski Resort is 40 minutes away. Other major ski resorts are just a little farther. Echo Mountain Ski and Snowboard Resort is 10 miles away.

This was a very private secluded location. My family had a great time hiking in the snowy mountain
My family really likes the out doors. Although it seems you are out in the middle of nowhere. You are about 20 minutes from Idaho Springs. Where there is shopping and dinning. The cabin is very clean and maintain. My family has already ask for me to look into booking for this upcoming summer.
Winter wonderland retreat!
Our family enjoyed a weekend in the woods at this cabin, filled with wood-burning stove, surrounded by gorgeous mountain views and fun sledding hill just out the door! We appreciated all the kid-friendly games, movies, high chairs, nightlights, etc. that were available. Exceeded our expectations!
Absolutely Wonderful!
We stayed in this cabin for Thanksgiving, 2018. It was wonderful. There were 5 adults and a 2 year old and the 3 bedrooms easily accommodated all of us. We had a lot of snow and found that the driveway was easy to maneuver, as well as the highway which we took to do Christmas ornament shopping in Idaho Springs. Snowshoeing and sledding were popular outside and the wood stove kept us warm while we played games and cards at the dining room table. Thanksgiving dinner was easy to cook in the large oven and even though we brought all of our own food, this is a very well stocked kitchen.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!! Thank you!
Really nice getaway for our family
Enjoyed the views and the peace and quiet. Great location close to Mt. Evans and Idaho Springs. Wish we could have stayed longer.
wonderful cabin and property
I love the creek
Great mountain getaway!
This was our fourth visit. We love this spot because you can stay on property and hike for an hour or more exploring Chicago creek, you can zip up to summit lake and Mt Evans, or you can explore the towns and nearby mountain passes. And you can listen to the thrush call and the broadtail and Rufus hummingbirds will come right up to you! Awesome!
