About this property

Mountain View Lodge | Mountain Views, Theater Room

Mountain View Lodge comes by its name honestly: From its covered deck, you’ll have a spectacular view of the Great Smoky Mountains, which stand just beyond the lush woodlands surrounding the log home. The vistas are only one reason, however, that this three-story, eight-bedroom home is so special.

Because it can sleep as many as twenty-six people, Mountain View Lodge is ideal for a multi-family vacation, a school reunion, or a church retreat. Each of the three bedrooms on the top floor includes a king-size bed, a TV, loads of storage, and direct access to a balcony. You and your sweetheart can linger beneath the stars before snuggling up in bed, or you can wake up early to catch the morning mist rising over the mountains, all without waking any of the others.

The fourth bedroom, on the main floor, has its own king-size bed and TV, among other comforts. The lower level includes two bedrooms with King-size beds and two with queen-size bunk beds. The kids will love the bunk beds, which can sleep four people; every night will feel like a slumber party! Should you have additional guests, the sofa in the downstairs game room opens into a bed for two, as does one of the living room sofas.

There’s plenty more to do at Mountain View Lodge than sleep. The house has two game rooms. The downstairs room features a full-size pool table, a foosball table, and a pub-style table perfect for playing cards or surfing the web (the lodge has free WiFi). In the top floor’s game room you have a choice of arcades to play. This room has a TV and a wet bar too, making it a great rainy-day hangout.

Another fun space for whiling away a few hours is Mountain View Lodge’s home theater. From the ten cinema-style chairs you and your friends can watch a movie on a 110” screen. You may never want to go to your local movie theater again!

Located on the main floor, the living room is as handsome as it is comfortable, with stately leather couches, yet another TV and a fireplace to gather by after a day on the slopes. Just off the living room is the huge dining area. Furnished with three large tables, it can seat the whole gang at once, even if you have a full house.

The kitchen, like the dining area, is designed to accommodate a crowd. That means two refrigerator/freezers, two ovens, two microwaves, even two dishwashers, plus a wealth of pots, pans, gadgets, and tableware. The kitchen also has generous counter space, storage, and room for several people to cook at once.

Rockers on Mountain View Lodge’s three covered decks enable everyone to revel in the stunning scenery, the crisp mountain breezes, the chirping of wrens and warblers during the day, and the hooting of owls at night. So serene is the setting, you’ll be amazed by just how close the lodge is to the local attractions. For instance, less than a half-mile away is the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, an eight-mile trail of more than 100 shops, galleries, and studios. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is less than fifteen minutes away. Just as close is downtown Gatlinburg, home to thrill rides, mini golf, arcades, restaurants, and a tram that will carry you over the town to Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area. After you return from your action-packed day, you can soothe your weary muscles in one of Mountain View Lodge’s two outdoor hot tubs.

Mountain View Lodge’s numerous other amenities include a washer and dryer, six and a half bathrooms, cable channels, and plenty of parking on a private paved driveway. Perhaps best of all, it features plenty of large rooms where everyone can gather to make memories together, as well as enough space so that you can treat yourself to private time if you’re so inclined.

Experience Mountain View Lodge’s pleasures for yourself: Book your stay today, and get ready for what might be your best vacation yet.

What you need for 14 and Nothing else
This cabin is conveniently located only minutes from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge which makes the location ideal for a Smoky Mountains trip. It featured plenty of sleeping space for my party of 14 and I appreciated the large kitchen that had two fridges, two ovens and all of the kitchen equipment you would need. But that’s where the pleasantries stop. The cabin is obviously run by a vacation company, one that believes in providing as little as possible. There were NO Amenities… no shampoo/conditioner, no trash bags, no salt and pepper…. We were told that we had to provide all of it… adding a considerable expense to our grocery bill and taking up precious time. The rocking chairs are dry rotting and one of them broke when we sat it in. The hot tubs were cold, the WiFi was non functional, the kitchen knives were dull, dishes were chipped, shower doors were broken. I mentioned all of this to the company and received only a small refund (not even 10% back) for the neglect this cabin has had. If the maintenance needs weren’t bad enough the cabin lacked personality and care. The towels were as thin as shop rags, the blankets were so thin my crew went and bought their own to use, even the toilet paper was cheap. Overall we were pretty disappointed. There are better cabins in the area with a better price range that provide more. Keep looking.

Bear sightings
We were excited to see the bears but they tore up trash because someone before us did not latch the garbage cans. We tried to get someone out to clean up the mess they made because we had to drive through it daily but no one ever showed up!!

We had a great time. We think you have a leak coming from master bedroom on main floor down into bathroom on floor with bunk beds.

Great stay for our youth group!
We had exactly 26 teens and adults for a youth group convention. It was the perfect location. Close enough, but far enough so that we were not in all the craziness! It was beautiful and just the right amount of things to keep the tens busy! I do wish that there were sheets for the pullout couches and pillow cases for the extra pillows. We will be back next year though!
