Nice place to stay.
The accommodation was excellent and the hosts treated us like one of the family.Everything was to our liking and Mr and Mrs Herve were lovely and gave us an interesting lesson on sea fishing ,which they are very good at. Would certainly stay there again.
famille tres conviviale sympathique personne a recommander sans problème
au plaisir de vous revoir. Cordialement Eliane et Hervé
Nice house in the French Countryside
First, I'd like to say thank you to the owners, they were very nice. They have a beautiful flower garden and an area/field to play the French game, Petanque. The house accommodated our group of five, one queen bed and 3 twin beds. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, i.e., pots, pans, coffee machines, etc. The shower was a little tricky due to the shower head being hand-held and nowhere to latch it onto. The downstairs restroom is a bit small so we mostly used the one upstairs. Please note that the town is very "quiet" - really nothing to do or see there. On the bright side, it is very peaceful. You'll need a car, which we did have, to drive to the nearby areas and towns to buy groceries and find a couple restaurants. We used this house as our base and drove to Bayeaux, Mont St. Michel, D-Day Beaches, Caen, etc. NOTE: throughout France most restaurants close between 2 - 7 pm so be prepared! Overall, we had a very relaxing stay at this house.
3 Days in Normandy!
I booked this rental because I wanted a place that had local character and enough space to spread out and feel at home during our 3 days in Normandy. The location fit the bill.
The positives: The home was clean and comfortable. It was within easy driving to Mt St Michel. M et Mme Richard were very nice and responsive to any email or request during the stay. The kitchen was well appointed with dishes; even had coffee for that early morning brew! The beds were comfortable, the washing machine was a plus as well (although there is no dryer, and in damp weather it was tough to dry the clean clothes). The second floor master bedroom looks out over a lovely garden. The small village has a boulangerie and butcher shop where we picked up bread and the makings for sandwiches.
The cons: As is usual with many European homes, the staircase to the upper floor where the bedrooms and main bath were located were extremely narrow and very steep. If you have any concern about lifting and carrying a heavy suitcase; you may want to consider this before booking. There was a downstairs toilet adjacent to the front door that we never used because it smelled as though there was a plumbing problem. We just kept the door to the toilet closed. There was road construction during our stay that was a minor annoyance, but didn't cause us any real inconvenience since we were out most of the day when work was being done.
We would definitely consider this property again if travels ever took us back to the region! M et Mme Richard - thank you for being gracious hosts!
Brilliant in so many ways
The place was so clean and spacious for us. The location was great for our day trips to Dinan, St Malo, and Mont St-Michel. We highly recommend this place run by some very kind hosts to anyone. We felt at home instantly and certainly didn't want to leave.
Relaxing and very family friendly
We had a brilliant holiday at this location. The listing description is very clear about what is provided but additional facilities such as the baby's cot and the toys the boys could play with were not... a huge bonus! The outside space is brilliant for kids to run around and enjoy and we frequently sat outside to eat and enjoy the sunset.
The property was well looked after and clean and when we had an issue with the washing machine it was fixed within the hour. Excellent service from our hosts. They were there if we needed us but didn't impose on our stay.
I would definitely recommend this to friends and family as it is such a lovely home in a great location. Close to St Malo and Mont St Michel. There are touristy areas, beaches, beautiful villages and rural France all within 30 mins. With our 5 year old and 1 year old we visited Alligator Bay, Cobac Parc, Castle Landel and did some velo-rail. For eating out visit Combourg as it has a lovely restaurant called La Cour du Temple which does amazing Galettes.
Thank you again to our hosts for making our family holiday superb.
Bonjour merci beaucoup pour vos appréciations et au plaisir de se revoir .Cordialement Eliane Hervé gros bisous a Alex et Louis
