About Sarah Ford

My partner, Aaron, and I purchased our home in Stowe almost two years ago so we could permanently live in one of our favorite Vermont towns. From Vermont originally, we have a passion for all outdoor activities and the many fine cuisines of our home state. Some of our favorite past times include skiing/snowboarding, sailing, mountain biking, rock climbing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. We both thoroughly enjoy sharing our local passion and knowledge of the area with all who are interested!

Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing stay. The house is in a great location and has lots of comfortable space, inside and out. Three teens and two adults and we all had plenty of space to spread out. It’s fully stocked with any home necessities you would need plus games, books etc and it’s absolutely spotless. Gorgeous yard and veggie gardens. The owner was very helpful, gave great suggestions and was fun to talk with. We didn’t want to leave! Very highly recommend.

Warm & inviting

  • 5 of 5

The landscape surrounding Sarah's home is quintessential Vermont and so lovely (even in below freezing weather). We arrived in the dark and everything was welcoming/warm and so easy to find. They provide great towels & the mattresses are so comfortable on all the beds (call me Godilocks) and her place is immaculate. We made breakfasts and a dinner there and we had all the necessary tools. They even have a gas stove ! For our mother/daughter reunion with four of us total Sarah's place was just perfect. We especially liked the generous entry way (places to put our ski's and snowshoes & a complementary boot warmer). Thank You Sarah!

Lodging Lottery winner

  • 5 of 5

First to review, woohoo!

I splurged a bit... I needed a recharge, and decided to lengthen a detour to Vermont. I was lucky in finding this at the last minute... I truly did feel like I had won the lodging lottery.

Its a deceptive large house... I really wish that I had rented a family. But... it was also very cozy. Even with temps at -2 F when I departed, I was completely unaware of the cold while I was in the house. Very comfortable. The house is tastefully decorated. Homey, but not too lived in. The bed on the first floor was comfortable, I didn't try out the others ! Amenities were perfect. Very clean, very much outfitted for cooking. Bathrooms are on the smaller side, but completely fine.

Admittedly, I'm not a skier, and I don't think Stowe is honestly the best representation of the feel of the state. Its a bit too much of a tourist playground for me. Although its beautiful, I think the snooty factor is not characteristic of the people of Vermont. However... touristy means that there are a lot of resources, dining, pretty stores and commercial places, etc.

This house is very close to getting to the center of Stowe on a quiet back road, and also close to the main drag to get to 89, but it feels so very removed from that 'congestion'. Quiet. Peaceful. Beautiful. Go pick up some maple syrup at the farm down the street....

Sarah was an absolute pleasure to deal with as well. I didn't get a chance to meet her as she had a happy event that kept her away... but she was lovely.

I told a family member about the house soon after I left... I think its a great option for a family looking to be in Stowe without the bustle.
