Why Ethan Smith chose Stamford
This house was a guest cottage for the Rexmere Hotel - one of the classic Catskill resort hotels of the early 1900s. Although the hotel is gone, the Lochmere continues the same great tradition of hospitality!
What makes this House unique
Views of the lakes and the mountains - breathtaking! The cool mountain air is great for sleeping in the summer. Fall foliage is spectacular! Close to Skiing and to Cooperstown for the Field of Dreams and Baseball Hall of Fame. So much to see and do, but not so much that you mind staying home and sipping some wine on the porch (summer) or by the fireplace (winter).

Great home for large gatherings
We enjoyed our Thanksgiving stay - the house had plenty of room for our large gathering of family and friends. Wished we could have stayed longer. The owners were very accommodating and left instructions and tips to try to maximize our comfort and minimize confusion. For example, all cabinets were labeled making it easy to find anything we were looking for in the very well stocked kitchen. We hope to return in the future!
This well equipped home worked very well for our large family to attend a wedding nearby. Lots of room for the cousins to spread out. Nice garden and porch to enjoy your coffee or cocktails. Communications with Ethan were prompt and
check in was easy.
Fantastic house for the family
This house had everything we needed! We were so happy to have such a lovely place to hang out for a weekend away with the family. Highly recommend to others!
Ethan’s house was big enough for my family of 12! It was very quiet and peaceful, and the check in process was super easy. Communication with Ethan was quick and responsive. I would recommend this to anyone!
Great large home in Upstate NY
Loved the old house feel and location. Accommodated many guest comfortably.
We enjoyed the place it had plenty of sitting areas and was clean . We would stay there again .. bit pricey with additional costs per person .. as its a 6 rooms but you will pay for each person staying .. overall nice place
Thanks so much for the feedback - I'm really glad that you enjoyed the stay. We try to keep our pricing both fair and competitive - the more people that stay, the more time and energy it takes to clean the house, do the laundry, etc. We feel that $25 per person, per night, is a reasonable price to charge that lets large groups spread their costs in a reasonable way. You get pricing that is less than any local hotel, plus the convenience of being able to house a large group under one roof, along with all of the privacy and amenities of a private home.
