Bill Stahl Farm is a truly magical property located on a secluded unpaved road in a charming corner of the Western Catskills. When we saw the house and farm for the first time we were instantly smitten. Built in the 1880's and run continuously as a dairy farm for over 100 years, it now stands as an idyllic property, lovingly restored while honoring its heritage and natural beauty.
Our house sleeps twelve in five different bedrooms, each with their own charm; one on the ground floor and four on the second.
Bedroom 1 & Bathroom
The ground floor bedroom has a queen size bed with it's own bathroom with walk-in bathtub and shower.
Upstairs you will find the master bedroom with a queen size bed and movable crib.
Across from the master bedroom is another large bedroom with spacious closet and a queen sized bed.
Down the hall is a smaller bedroom with two twin beds and a trundle, perfect for children.
And finally the large children's room with a twin, a trundle and a foldable cot as well as a large foosball table.
The four upstairs bedrooms all share a large bathroom with a bathtub and shower.
Downstairs, the spacious kitchen is perfect for people who love to cook and has two ovens, two double basin sinks and a butcher block island, perfect for prepping those large meals. If you prefer to cook with fire, you can step outside and find a large drum style charcoal grill. The large sycamore dining table comfortably seats 12 for those large family dinners. Off the dining room lies the comfy living room with a glass-pane wood fireplace as the centerpiece, ideal for warming up around on those chilly mountain evenings.
The Stahl Farm is defined by water; and streams and springs are abundant and flow everywhere you look. Our farm is perfect for long walks, spectacular views from above and a never ending list of things to explore. The two ponds are enjoyable in any season and team with life. Be it a summer swim or row in the canoe or just a chilly spring dip of the toes, the ponds are always the best part of any day. We have brought the farm and house back to life and given it a new chapter. The interiors reflect our taste, values and heritage while the outdoors are still full of possibility and promise. We have just started to tap into what this farm can become and now we are happy to share it with you.
