About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Our 'home away from home' is located at the southern tip of Hilton Head Island, in a quiet neighborhood of Sea Pines Plantation. Sea Pines is the Island's largest resort and is skirted by 5 miles of beautiful beaches and contains acres of forest preserves and miles of bike trails. Sea Pines hosts the PGA Tour's Heritage of Golf tournament every year in April.

Our home is conveniently located for that perfect vacation get-away. A short bike ride (one mile) takes you to Harbour Town Golf Links, the Harbour Town Yacht Club, or Sea Pines beaches (two miles). This allows visitors to be near it all yet be able to retreat back to a quiet private neighborhood home to relax.

The home offers a panoramic lagoon view with deck access from the master bedroom, great room, and kitchen. It is tastefully decorated with tradtional furnishings. There is a private community swimming pool and tennis courts available for use (located only a 2 minute walk away!).

We take great pride in updating our home and adding new amenities each year for our guests enjoyment. There is nothing worse than renting a vacation home and being disappointed. We use VRBO ourselves when we vacation so we truly understand the importance of making a good impression and exceeding expectations.

Our goal is to make sure you enjoy our home as much as we do!

About The Owner

We are the Gugle family from Waxhaw, North Carolina, which is located close to Charlotte. My wife and I have four children, ages ranging from 14 to 9 years old and they all love Hilton Head!

The Owner purchased this house in 1999

Why The Owner chose Hilton Head

We have been big fans of Hilton Head for many years. We were married in Hilton Head in 1994. My wife's parents live year round in Hilton Head. We bought our home in 1999 because we wanted a vacation property located near family. When we first saw our home, we absolutely fell in love with the breathtaking water view from the back deck and how bright and airy it is inside. The tranquility of the scenery captured us at first and with each passing season we gain a greater appreciation for the natural setting and wildlife.

What makes this house unique

Our home is an oasis of natural beauty and peacefulness in an otherwise busy community (Sea Pines). We like the fact that you can get away from the crowds and have your own slice of peace and quiet even when it is crowded in the summer. We have a private community pool and tennis courts a short distance from our home. We can walk (20 min) to the Harbor Town Lighthouse and the marina. We have shopping and restaurants located within one mile. Our home gives us and our guests a place to get away from it all and yet be close enough to everything you need.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for opening up your beautiful home to us. It was the perfect way to spend our wedding week and it is so hard to leave! Thank you so much. When we think of our wedding, for the rest of our lives, your home will be a part of that amazing memory.

Had a wonderful time but the house needs some things fixed.

  • 4 of 5

The house was beautiful and in a wonderful location! Everything was clean but unfortunately not everything was working properly.

The bedroom at the top of the stairs had no power to it. Nothing worked including the lights, fan and all outlets. There was an extension cord running from the other bedroom into this room so the light could be plugged in. Very inconvenient for my 70 year old mother to have no tv and only 1 light that she had to get out of bed to turn on. We ended up switching rooms half way through our stay to make her more comfortable. Also the closet in the 3rd bedroom had no working lights and the shower head was literally held on by tape.

Everything else was perfect. Beautiful updated kitchen. Beds were comfy and clean. Gorgeous back deck overlooking the lake. Large living room was very comfy for everyone. We would definitely stay here again, if the issues were addressed.

Owner's Response: We sincerely regret that your stay in our home fell short of your expectations. We strive very hard as noted by many past guests to keep our home to the highest of standards and fully operational. As a result of Hurricane Matthew we have experienced a wiring issue isolated to the third bedroom. We have had an electrician out twice to identify the cause of the problem and fix it. That is why we ran an extension cord into that bedroom in an attempt to temporarily provide electricity while the issue is being resolved. As for the shower head, we are in the process of replacing that as well - prior guests had accidentally ripped it out of the wall. Due to the recent hurricane, please understand that it has been exceptionally difficult to secure contract workers on short notice. Of course that is certainly not your problem and in no way an excuse for a less than perfect vacation experience. If you are open to it, we would like to extend a discount for a future stay to make up for the inconvenience caused to you and your family.

Great Property!

  • 4 of 5

This was our first family vacation on Hilton Head. We enjoyed our time there tremendously in large part due to the wonderful home we rented. It was clean, in great proximity to everything in Sea Pines, peaceful and private.

What a great first trip to Hilyon Head!!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hilton Head. The house was awesome! Updated Kitchen, new hardwood floors (that I loved), ample space for a family of five (age 7,11,12) and a great location. There were plenty of beach chairs and bikes for our family. We rode to harbor town every morning for breakfast. Especially loved the deck with view of the pond with its resident alligator. Owner couldn't have been more professional and communicative.

Thanks for a great stay!

  • 4 of 5

Very enjoyable experience / vacation for our family of 6 - excellent location with easy access to the beach, pool, restaurants, and entertainment. Especially enjoyed the quiet evenings sitting out on the deck overlooking the lagoon. This home had everything necessary to live very comfortable for our week of family vacation in Hilton Head....

Well maintained house & property

  • 5 of 5

Very clean & maintained home.

Plenty of items provided to make it feel like home.

Nice deck and grill.

Plenty of nice bikes.

I took tennis racquets but the ones provided were nice.

Loved the family room with the large wrap around couch.

The pool & tennis courts were very nice & always kept clean.

We loved the quiet of the neighborhood.

Other areas of the Sea Pines resort were easily accessed.

We loved Harbor Town and the Sea Pines Plantation beach area.

The Salty dog cafe and the frosty frog were one of the many restaurants we visited.

John was very easy to work with & very helpful.

We would return to this same house.

Thanks for everything

Mark Maus & family
