Nestled in Vermont's Upper Valley, our home overlooks the private seven acre Alton Pond, with earthen dam, swimming, canoeing and hiking on seventy forested acres.
Our home has a large great room with exposed white timber beam ceilings with wood fireplace; chef's kitchen; a solarium over looking a koi pond and garden; sunny master suite with forest view, a steam shower, large tub and private sitting area; a downstairs suite with two bedrooms, private bath and laundry, sitting area and gas fireplace.
The pond, twenty-five feet at its deepest point, has native large-mouth bass and is stocked with trout in the spring. It is home to an otter, many ducks, geese and an occasional eagle.
On one side of the pond is a football field sized earthen dam, open spaces to play, create and imagine. Maple, pine, hemlock and birch trees bring vibrant fall colors. We are home to abundant wildlife and surrounded by land in the Vermont Land Trust.
Our guests enjoy the outdoor fire pit, several canoes, dock, and badminton net. There are many other local adventures nearby, including hiking and horse back riding.
