It was the perfect location for us!!!
All of our needs were met with this cozy cabin. The cabin is in walking distance to the marina and a short drive to a public boat ramp. The private beach area was perfect for tying up the boat in the evenings and there was parking for several vehicles and the boat trailer. The covered porch and fire pit area were perfect for just relaxing and enjoying the lake views! Grilling out was made easy with the nice new gas grill and ample outdoor seating. It was a relief not having to pack linens and bath towels and a nice surprise to find paper towels, bath tissue and trash bags available even though we had packed our own. The cabin was odor free which was extremely important to me due to allergies. The loft sleeping area would work best for elementary aged kids. Working with the owner Kim was a pleasure, she promptly replied to inquiries prior to our arrival, made herself available for concerns during our stay and most importantly provided us with the perfect weekend getaway, we felt like lakefront owners or at least just for the weekend! 🙂.
Thank you Dorinda! I’m so glad you enjoyed you stay.
Romantic and cozy
Adorably decorated cozy cabin was perfect for my fiancée and I. The location is spectacular and I can’t wait to return when the weather is warmer. Only thing missing as a WiFi connection as we still had to check in with work!
We arrived on a cold, rainy afternoon to find the cabin already warmed up for us.
It's an unbelievable location: lake view on three sides, right on the lake, a dock, a beach, and a marina all right there. Low traffic because it was November, but I could see it being really busy in the summer. We saw deer and turkeys on the property or nearby.
Kimberly was quick to answer any questions or emails, very accommodating and easy to work with. Some things were outside her control, but disappointing anyway. The outside electric was out so we didn't get to enjoy those cool string lights. The Marina was closed for the season so we didn't have any Wifi nearby. She had some firewood brought in for the firepit, but they are huge logs and there was no kindling. This was remedied by an adventure gathering of sticks and dry leaves from the nearby areas.
The futon couch in the living room was amazingly comfy and the pillows for the beds nice quality. My tall teen daughter liked the loft bed, but getting in and out of there was challenging. I wouldn't think the place could really sleep 6 unless 3 of them were little.
The little details in and out of the cabin are precious and charming. The basic structure of the cabin is rough with many water stains and old floors: that said, there were no funky odors, and everything was clean.
The advantage of this place's pricing is not in the nightly fee, which is a little high but one is obviously paying for the location and amenities, but the lack of excessive cleaning and service fees, which I really appreciate.
If you are outdoor people, this is a great choice.
Cozy cabin. Gorgeous natural property enhanced with stone walls, sand beach and outside lighting.
We spent five days at this secluded cabin and enjoyed every minute. The lake view was beautiful for watching sunrises and sunsets. I enjoyed the rocking chairs on the dock for relaxing and reading, while my husband enjoyed kayaking and fishing. Evenings were spent by the beautiful stone fire pit roasting hot dogs or grilling out on the gas grill. Nice outside furniture for relaxing. When darkness came, there were lots of outdoor lights that came on to create a magical atmosphere. The night sky was spectacular, devoid of light pollution.
This location is within 20 minutes of restaurants and grocery stores. Also not far from the parkway. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The grounds were very clean and well maintained.
We were blessed with beautiful weather. There were plenty of places at Bear Cliff for walking. The color was just turning on the trees, but a short drive up the parkway revealed peak colors.
We had a really wonderful time at this magical place!
Little Lakeside Paradise
This is our second time staying in this little cabin. It is a great property with a good view, awesome beach area, and nice fire pit. Love the newly added, covered boat dock. Had a great time!
This is a cozy cabin in a lovely location on Lake James. Everything was provided for in the cabin. Outside you have a grill and fire pit with enough lounge chairs for the whole family. Nice and dark at night to see the stars. There is also a covered porch with four chairs and coffee/end tables to sit and relax with a cold adult beverage. My husband, dog Willow and I really enjoyed our visit and you will too.
