Beautiful tranquil setting
Chantal is a wonderful host - very welcoming and helpful. The one bedroom suite is very clean, bright and quiet. It is fully equipped, with everything you need if you wish to have meals in. The property itself is absolutely beautiful, like having your own private park. I used Amiens as a base for visiting historical sites relating to the First World War. It was nice to have a spot to park the car as well. Everything was as pictured.
Great stay, warm welcome and great location!
We stayed at this beautiful location for 8 days. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The owner was very welcoming and respectful of our privacy. The property makes you feel safe and at home.
Beautiful, quiet property in a quaint town.
The property is situated on a beautiful piece of property along the city's canals. Although close to the rail line it was very quiet and we found the bed to be very comfortable so we had an excellent sleep. The apartment is well equipped and clean.
We utilized the yard for an afternoon picnic and it was a wonderful setting. Chantel was a friendly and helpful host. If you do not speak French, make sure your phone has a translation ap downloaded or be good at charades!
The city is charming and a great center for many day trips if that is of interest.
I would recommend this property.
Ideal for a couple
Spotlessly clean and well equipped. The apartment is ideal for a couple and we were really comfortable here. As previous reviews indicate, the train tracks are just at the bottom of the garden and trains pass regularly but it didn't bother us even though we slept with the windows open. We received a warm welcome from Chantal and Vivienne and, despite the fact that they do not speak any English, we had many conversations helped by gestures and facial expressions - hilarious!
Make sure you read the booking information carefully - sheets and towels are not included. We had requested these extras and everything was ready and waiting when we arrived.
The Cathedral is impressive and the hortillonages are well worth a visit. Albert is a pretty town with the Somme museum in the centre. The war graves and memorials are a sobering reminder of the price paid for our freedom. The Australian memorial has a superb interactive display that we'd recommend.
We stayed for a week and feel we've done most of what Amiens has to offer. We'd definitely stay in this apartment again for a couple of days en route to somewhere else.
Welcoming and helpful.
We would recommend staying at Chantal's apartment. It was a little more compact than expected but perfectly adequate for 2 adults. All facilities you would need. Bed was very comfortable and the garden was lovely and had several areas to sit. Communication was a bit of a challenge as our French is not very good but we managed to understand each other. Chantal was very friendly and helpful even ordered a takeaway pizza for us one night when we were too late for the local restaurants! It was very hot when we were there and would have benefited from a fan, but saying that we didn't ask, and I'm sure if we had Chantal would have acquired one for us. Good location, we used the cycle route into Amiens everyday, only 15 mins by bike or 35 mins walk and supermarkets 5 mins by car. We had an enjoyable and memorable long weekend. Le Tour, Bastille Day and France won the football!
Nice Apartment
Very nice little cottage like apartment. The hostess was very nice and polite, she showed us a few things to see locally. The apartment was was very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone.
