Cabin Under the Pines

Why Mark Skiles chose Idyllwild
As a realtor I've seen a lot of homes on the mountain. This property stood out the minute I saw it. It's from an era long gone. My first thought was Goldilocks and 3 cabins in the woods! I was so excited and couldn't wait to start my projects to make this place beautiful. I wanted to create the warm cabin feel and invite my guests to enjoy old Idyllwild charm. Situated in a nice area but close to town. The home is new to VRBO as of June 2018.
What makes this Cabin unique
Gorgeous hardwood floors and cedar walls/ceilings. My favorite thing is the pocket windows in the living room and the rock fireplace. The home is roomy and comfortable.

My husband and I needed a relaxing getaway and this cute little cabin was perfect. It had all the basic necessities we needed to make our stay stress free. I loved how the cabin had modern conveniences while maintaining that 1930s feel.
wonderful experience- will be back!
Mark was responsive and accommodating. His home was clean and well appointed. I got a blister from wearing sandals into the easy mile into town and found first aid products which made a trip to the pharmacy unnecessary. The home had lots of windows and was surprisingly well insulated. We will definitely recommend his place to our friends. Idyllwild is a hidden gem.
Great price, easy check in as Mark, the owner, personally reached out to us and facilitated a smooth and early check in. Although it had a closed in deck area, our two active dogs and a busy road close by is why we gave location 4/5 stars. Overall a great place!
Beautiful old cabin in a beautiful old stand of trees
Beautiful old cabin, thoughtfully updated for convenience. Immaculately clean; super well
appointed; great working kitchen with lots of helpful extras (spices, tea, countertop appliances); lovely original windows; nice and comfortable furniture, including some antiques (and the best assortment of lamps I’ve ever seen in a rental!); and a good TV with good reception and lots of viewing options.
A couple of things worth pointing out: The cabin is right next to one of the main highways into town, so it can be quite busy and noisy during peak traffic hours, but it’s almost silent in the evening, which makes a huge difference and is a big plus. Also, the cabin is located in a pretty densely packed neighborhood, but we found the neighborhood very quiet at all hours of the day and night, and privacy turned out not to be an issue at all. Visually, however, the location is crowded with other cabins, including right next to the rental, so that could be an issue for some renters.
Finally, and a big plus: The owner is very easy to reach and super nice to work with.
Thank for the nice review Liz. I appreciate it. The cabin is very old and rustic with that old Idyllwild charm. Please come back and visit again soon.
Family weekend getaway
This property is amazing!! Super cute with lots of rustic charm. We stayed in cabin A and my cousin, wife and son were behind us in cabin C. We are already planning our trip for next year and hope to stay here again. I am very picky about my surroundings and this cabin exceeded my expectations. My only feedback would be that I think the cabins and parking spaces could be marked better for those arriving at night, ie reflective paint or signs in the ground. So over all, 5 stars for this place and look forward to coming back!
Had a chance to reset and recharge. Though the cabin is close to other homes it was not at all a problem I did not here or see another person for 2 days. Lovely quaint interior and lots of space. Loved it
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed your stay.
