Such a great little cottage! We came up to Carmel Valley for a friend’s wedding and stayed at Anne’s meadow cottage for a few days. It’s a great location, close to town, and has a beautiful expansive meadow out back. It’s so peaceful, birds are chirping, the wind blows through the large trees out back, and if you want to relax, it’s a great place to be. Anne is a wonderful host and makes sure that everything is welcoming for your stay. We would stay here again anytime :)
Everything was just great. Anne was very quick at answering questions. The place is very quiet and clean. and we ended up having dinner by the outdoor fire pit both days. We will definitely come back.
Frank and Stella
We enjoyed our stay in this charming cottage in a tranquil and peaceful setting. It was very clean and was furnished with everything you would need. The only disappointment was the outside area where the owner is renovating the patio area that is shown in the pictures. Instead of a brick patio with chairs and a fire pit, there was dirt and a few flagstone pieces that were used as a walk way. She is in the process of building a permanent fire pit and a private deck, but we were not notified about this until we showed up. Even though that was disappointing, the overall setting and cleanliness of the cottage earned four stars.
Meadow Cottage Idyll
My wife and I spent two nights in Meadow Cottage. It was impeccably clean, appointed with taste and quality furnishings. It was as exactly as listed on the website. Finding the house and checking in was very easy. The cottage is next to the owner's house in a quiet neighborhood perched on a hillside in the Carmel Valley. The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped and there is also a sitting room off of the kitchen. We had a busy tourist agenda but this spot is so lovely that we simply decided to make time to actually be in the house.. We had dinner under the stars next to the fire pit and it was just great. Hummingbirds frolicked in the garden while we ate. It is a very peaceful and quiet spot and we were very reluctant to leave. The owner was very, very nice and knowledgeable. She was also completely unobtrusive. We really felt that we had the entire property to ourselves. She also provided useful advice on local activities and restaurants. We hope to go back for another visit. We highy recommend this property and have only positive things to say about it,
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage conveniently located close to Carmel Valley village. Anne's recs were spot on and we will definitely look forward to our next visit.
The Meadow Cottage was perfect for a quiet getaway. It’s out of the hustle and bustle of Carmel, but close enough to enjoy the many sights with just a short drive.
There were some updates being done at the property when we were there, but Anne was gracious and we enjoyed our stay.
Start your day with a walk on the Meadow. Then head down to Carmel Valley Village (1.8 miles away) for coffee and pastries at the Wild Goose. The Village offers boutique shopping, art studios to browse, wine tasting, and fine restaurants. A massage at Bernardus Lodge & Spa (4 miles) might be a nice detour. Check out the calendar for Hidden Valley (2 miles) to see if there's a musical performance. Garland Ranch Regional Park (4.6 miles) has an extensive network of hiking trails, and even places to wade in the Carmel River. Take the scenic 20-minute drive down the Valley Road to Carmel-by-The-Sea and walk along Carmel Beach. Nearby attractions include Big Sur, Point Lobos, and the Monterey Aquarium. You can go whale watching, play a round of golf at any number of public courses, and horseback ride on the beach. A women's surf lesson is offered on Tuesday morning in Monterey. A bag piper plays every evening at sunset on the golf course at The Inn at Spanish Bay (free valet parking). Mission Ranch Restaurant and its piano bar are a fun way to finish up the day. Be sure you have a flashlight when you get back to the Cottage - it's very dark here under the clear night sky.
