The cabin was beautiful! The kids all had a great time, even us adults enjoyed the pool table and the video arcade. Kept everyone busy while we were there. The location was great, far enough away for the peace and quiet, yet a 2 minute trip and your downtown. The bedrooms were great, all the beds were super comfy. The driveway was a little tricky at first getting down but we stayed closer to the fence pulling down in and it was no problem, could park right next to the cabin and we had 2 cars with us. The service was great I called with a question late one night and someone came by early the next morning. Would definately recommed this to anyone staying in the area. We had 5 kids ages 7-12 and they absolutely loved it there, they didn't want to go home. Super close to the grocery store also, which is a plus.

Charming home, very comfortable for our big family of seven.

Charming home. We were a family of 7 with 4 big teenagers and very comfortable. Kids love the game room and jacuzzi. Convenient to town and various attractions. We saw a bear and cub one morning pas right under the deck in the back of the house. Very cool.

Mixed feelings about this vacation home . . .

  • 2 of 5

Overall, this was a satisfactory place to stay, but I wouldn't say luxurious. It was quiet, very clean, close to town, and certainly had plenty of bathrooms. Everything was ready for our family, and it was nice to have a few things there for us so that we didn't have to go out the first evening after a very long car ride. It was nice to not have to bring our own linens. The kitchen was well-stocked with appliances, although the coffee maker wasn't working. On the disappointing side, there is not much of a mountain view in the summer. Mostly, we could just see trees. The lighting in the cabin wasn't really quite enough with all of the dark wood floors, walls, and furniture. The floors in the living room were all scratched and the benches for the table were wobbly. It wasn't as spacious in the living room as you would expect with so many being able to sleep there, although it was OK for us since there were only four. The walls were very thin. You could hear everything in the living room from the master bedroom and anyone walking on the floor above. The ceiling fan in the main floor master bedroom was not appropriately placed nor aesthetically pleasing. It was very off-center and very low. I was concerned that I would sit up in my sleep and be hit by it. On the other hand, the bed was very high and somewhat challenging to get into each evening for someone who isn't that tall. This is definitely not an accessible home even though it is listed as such. The mattressed were also extremely soft and in need of replacement. The space between the bottom and top bunkbeds is also very small, and anyone could have easily banged their head on the bottom of the top bunk. We came back one evening to broken air conditioning. Renters are warned that the thermostats must all be kept at the same temperature so that the units won't freeze over; however, we following the directions and it still froze. When we called, the manager was very nice and instructed us to turn the AC part off for about an hour. We did as he said and the air came back on.

We really enjoyed the Great Smoky National Park, the surrounding area, and Douglas Lake!

Bears Sighted!

  • 4 of 5

Everything was great. We saw bears twice, once in the early morning near the cars and then the next day around noon below the trees. Cabin was perfect for 11 people. We fit 4 cars in the driveway. Game room was fun for all ages. A/C was nice and cold! Cabin was clean and smelled so good (like a log cabin). Only complaint, which was minor, the fridge took about 12 hours to finally chill the food/drinks.

Beautiful cabin ....close but so far away!

  • 5 of 5

Property was beautiful ! A short drive up the hill from gatlinburg and you're secluded in the woods. Minor issues ( shower handle not working) were handled immediately by property management ( very nice to deal with!) it is a very steep road to the cabin and the driveway is a little difficult but definitely worth staying here!
