Victor or Sally
About Victor or Sally
We (Sally and Victor) have been happily married for 27 years and have 2 wonderful children and 4 fabulous grandchildren. Victor recently retired after a 30 year law enforcement/counterterrorism career. Sally spent her career in the restaurant biz and also recently retired. Our son is a SGT in the US Army and our daughter is a housemaker and Mommy. Grandkids are all little.
Victor or Sally purchased this Cottage in 2002
Why Victor or Sally chose
Sally is from the same area and a true Vermonter. Victor first visited Vermont in 1986 and fell in love with the area immediately. The people are so friendly, life is slower, and the scenery is absolutely stunning.
What makes this Cottage unique
Even though cottage is typically the least expensive vacation rental lake property in the area, it offers the same amenities, comfort, and lake access of much more expensive cottages.

We loved our stay at Sally and Victor’s Camp. The house was recently remodeled and was nicely done. The bedrooms were comfortable, clean and neat. Living room was comfortable and the kitchen was set up with new appliances and plenty of counter space.
The location was wonderful. The house is located in a private association with its own water access to Lake Champlain about 75 yards away. We enjoyed walking the association grounds and found it a great jumping off spot to explore the rest of Vermont.
We look forward to seeing you again hopefully sooner than later
Cozy spot for exploring greater Burlington area
Everything was great and as described. Rural area surrounded by gorgeous views. We were able to visit breweries, museums, ice cream shops and hikes with ease. Thanks to you both for a great place for our family vacation!
You are always welcome!
Clean, neat, easy communication
Casa Lago is just as described. It’s not fancy or fussy but it is neat, tidy and has the necessary amenities like WiFi and tv. We used the house for spillover guests and the location was great for our purposes. It would have been great to take out the kayaks if we had the time as the lake is magnificent!
A cozy little cabin in Vermont near Lake Champlain.
With the exception of VRBO having crossed up my e-mails, to communicate with the owner of this unit, we had a wonderful time here. You see the owner was in Europe when we arrived and I had not received their e-mail to access the cabin. This proved to be a slight challenge when we arrived to enter, as I only had a phone number for the contact. Once we were able to enter the unit we had a great experience here.
We enjoyed our stay and the unit was remodeled recently as it was quaint and clean. We also had pets traveling with us and this property is pet friendly. Thanks for the use of this cabin and your hospitality. We will definitely consider it for our next stay in Vermont.
Again, Sorry for the confusion with VRBO but I think he will agree we corrected it as quickly as possible. Hope to see you next season.
Perfect casual get away place
This cabin is just what we needed. It was close to the water yet secluded and shaded. The inside was comfortable and homey. We had a great time and would like to return! Thank you so much for a great anniversary get away!
You are so welcome and we look forward to your return. If you come back next year we will give you a 10% discount.
Comfortable family getaway
We had a wonderful time at Casa Lago. It was the perfect combination of being close to nature but with all the comforts of home. All we had to do was grab some groceries (Shaw’s is about about 10 min south on Rt. 7 in Vergennes) and we were all set for our 3 day mini-vaca.
The beds were comfortable and my younger son immediately claimed the futon on the closed-in porch. Our dog was thrilled with the change of scenery as well!
In addition to the lake access just down the driveway, they’re also quite close to Kingsland Bay State Park, where we did some swimming and fly fishing one day. We also did a longer day trip to Waterbury on our one rainy day.
The one downside is a problem you’ll find all over Vermont outside the cities - wireless/cell access can be spotty. The WiFi in the cottage helped a lot in sending messages to make plans with family.
Our hosts were very accommodating and responsive, and the whole trip felt like we were staying at a friend’s. Highly recommend.
Lake Champlain is world renowned for its beautiful scenery, gorgeous waters, fabulous boating, pristine shorelines, and world-class fishing. Within a few miles of the cottage are many smaller lakes, ponds, creeks, and rivers not to mention the Green Mountains or Adirondacks. Ferrisburg is located in the Champlain Valley with direct and immediate access to miles of hiking trails, biking routes, small villages, towns, and countryside. Hiker and bikers can enjoy any level of trail from beginner to advance. The Appalachian Trail and Vermont’s famous Long Trail are nearby. Burlington is situated less than 30 minutes away and provides all the creature comforts of any modern city to include music, fine restaurants, museums, parks, and quality shopping. New York is a short drive or ferry boat ride from the cottage. The quaint town of Vergennes is located 10 minutes down the road. There you will find nice restaurants, groceries, shops, and friendly people.
