Spacious and clean, five bedroom house right on 5000-acre Hamlin Lake. Swim, fish, or dock your boat in your own front yard; Launch your small craft right next door; Watch the sunset over the dunes from your living room. Rent our deck boat or a jet-ski just down the road. Or drive five miles into downtown Ludington where you will find golf, movie theatres, bowling, go-carts, putt-putt golf, Lake Michigan fishing, a wonderful sandy beach, and numerous restaurants, ice-cream parlors, and shopping.
Nearby is Ludington State Park, the most popular park in Michigan, with a sandy beach, concession stand, picnic sites, and miles of shaded bike trails. In winter, just walk out your door for snowmobiling, ice-fishing, or cross-country skiing.
If you are a fisherman, Ludington is the premier salmon fishing port in Michigan and Hamlin Lake is loaded with walleyes, pike, bluegills, bass, and perch. Come spend a week in this wholesome family environment!!

The Owner purchased this house in 2004
We purchased our house as our retirement home, but we are still some years away from retiring. So we thought we share our home with guests until those retirement years roll around. It's a peaceful and scenic setting and the water can be viewed from most rooms in the house.
Our extended family consisting of 9 members, (6 adults & 3 children) rented this lovely vacation home. The home was clean and spacious. The property itself was lovely with great views especially at sunset. Plenty of bedrooms for us. Either you could eat in the house or there were picnic tables under the boat well area. Since the Olympics were on TV that week, we watched the games in the evening from the living room which seated the 9 of us very well. We were close to Ludington State Park Beach. We chose to rent the owner's pontoon boat which made our stay even better. Hamlin Lake is a large lake. You can boat to the dunes or Hamlin Beach, part of Ludington State Park. We were close to Silver Lake State Park where we rented jeeps to ride on the dunes. We hiked, swam, boated, and just relaxed. It was a great place to stay. The property itself has room in the boat well area to park another boat as well. I would recommend renting this facility especially for families. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Instead of 5 stars, I give it 10 stars!!
Just finished 6th year of summer rentals. Grandchildren, 19 and 16 years old love it so much they took time off their summer jobs to join us.
It's not just a cottage, it is a first class home--well maintained and all supplies needed (linens, pots, pans, griddles, very large freezer, nice fridge, etc. Large kitchen table with spacious seating, with a bell to ring when it's time to eat. Very private and you can't see any other houses unless you stand by the side of the lake.
Fishing from the front yard has been exceptional--bass and perch. This summer I caught 8 perch, between 9 1/2 and 11 inches long.
Beautiful view across the lake, all tress, State Park swimming beach is directly across the lake and the north view is all sand dunes.
Short drive to city Lake Michigan beach and beach where the Little Au Sable river meets Lake Michigan. On a scale of 1-10, I would give it a 15. You will be fortunate if you can find an open weekly slot for available!
This was our first stay here and have to say we were thoroughly impressed. From the more than ample parking for 4 families to the spacious house where there was never a crowding problem. The privacy is phenomenal. We ate most of out meals outside and were never bothered by anyone. We also rented the deck boat and had complete access to the parks and lake. Great fishing from the boat and shore. It's been mentioned in other reviews but the sunsets were gorgeous. We would go out every night and watch them, best show in town. We've recommended to several friends already.
It is rare when your expectations are met. It is even more rare when they are exceeded. Our expectations when fair exceeded. Everything we needed was provided from lawn chairs to WiFi to LP gas for the Weber grill to firewood! Amazing views with beautiful sunsets. Our biggest problem was having to leave. We not only highly recommend Dunview but expect to continue to visit annually.
Stayed with my family (total of 10 adults) and I have to say it was a beautiful place to relax andtour the area. We couldn't have asked for a nicer home that though there were ten of us we didn't bump into each other---plenty of space. My kids loved the volleyball court, I loved the kitchen with every container I needed to cook a large family dinner. If I had a question beforehand the owners got back to me very promptly. The one thing I want to say is OMG, THE SUNSETS---the water is right there in your front yard and the beautiful beautiful breathtaking sunsets was worth the trip. THANK YOU!!
This place is lovely! We had multiple families and all were comfortable in this spacious home. The views cannot be beat. We had a fantastic time and will be back - thank you!!
