Amazing and relaxing cottage great for all sizes of family and friends.
First off, A HUGE thank you to Ann and Dan for letting us experience their beautiful cottage. This is an amazing place with a lot if history and i'm sure has held hundreds of great memories for the Battineau family over the years. a lovely and very secluded 4 bdrm cottage 20 feet off the water. The interior is bright, spacious and clean. The morning sun from the east warms the living room and surrounding space with floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the waters outside and the forests beyond. Classic cottage fixtures both elegant and comfortable. Bedrooms are large or large enough, very quiet and cosy. A fully loaded well laid out kitchen with every appliance and tool needed to create any size feast with seating for 10 at the large dinning table plus 3-4 at the breakfast bar next to the pool table. The house has nice break points in the layout to allow for adults to enjoy dinner, games or a read while the kids watch movies or play outside. The property is huge! 1 acre with amazing water front access and as well surrounding areas that allow for outdoor activities. This is a great 4 season home that is great for families and guests of any age.
A few points of consideration
-The cottage is located about 30min from the town of Mactier which has everything you need for groceries and bevies. Do to the drive I would recommend you try and not forget anything critical as it will be bit of a drive to go grab some ice if you run out!
-Be prepared for a forest drive off the main road which will take around 15-25 min depending on the season and conditions.
-If traveling to the cottage during the winter insure you have a the MIN winter tires, even better....all wheel drive.....the best 4 wheel drive.
-45 Min or so from any major little town in Muskoka like Port carling.
This is a great space for those looking to relax, for family or friends getting together or for those seeking outdoor adventures such as water sports, fishing, hiking, snowshoeing or snowmobile! If traveling out to this location during the winter months we would highly recommend driving out to Muskoka Cranberry farms and winery to enjoy some great outdoor skating then warming up around the bonfires with some mulled wine or cider.
They also light torches for night skating...super fun for all.
If traveling to inquiring for summer months the property also has a separate bunkie with bedrooms that is also available to rent.
Thanks again to Dan and Ann, we will be sure to return again!
