Save gas and all the traffic on the Parkway, this cabin is in an excellent location to avoid having to fight the traffic and also to save money/gas. You can actually park your car at the cabin, walk to the end of the block, and take the trolley almost anywhere in Pigeon Forge/Gatliniburg.

It's a 2 bedroom 2 (+) bath that sleeps 6. It's located within site of the Parkway and about ¼ mile from the convention center, malls, and a couple of miles from Dollywood, Splash Mountain, the Nat'l Park. Gatliniburg, etc.; Close to shopping, resturants, entertainment, etc.

There is no step up to enter the living room area of the cabin, but it is a sunken living room, so there is 1 step up to the main part of the cabin unless you enter the cabin from the master bedroom patio door which has no step. The the sunken living room area is open to the dine-in kitchen area which is on the main floor.

The dine-in kitchen, bedrooms, a nice size bathroom with walk-in shower, whirlpool tub (an additional vanity in the hall), and a utility room with washer and dryer are located on the main floor of the cabin, along with a wood burning fireplace in the living room.

The hot tub is on the patio through the glass doors of the master bedroom. Lamp shades have artwork designed by the Hautman Brothers who are wildlife artists with works in Smithsonian and the White House.

Another walk-in shower, vanity, and toilet are located upstairs with an air hockey table and pool table.

The cabin also has wireless high speed Internet service.

Dollywood/Splash Mountain: This cabin is located within 5 minutes of

Dollywood/Splash Mountain and The Island theme parks

Andy,

We had a great time in the mountains, and we just loved your cabin. Your cabin was just perfect for our family of four. The mountain view was perfect and the location was nice and private. It was very clean and had everything we needed and more. It was too hot to use the hot tub, but my daughter did get in briefly. We saw around 25 turkey just down the road while driving to Pigeon Forge. We drove through Cades Cove and got to see turkey, lots of deer, coyote, and 7 black bears (including a Mama and 3 baby cubs up close). I know that was my favorite part of the trip! Thanks so much for all your advice and directions. We had a great breakfast at Mel's Diner. When, or if, we come back that way I would love to stay at your cabin again.

Thanks,

Dana and family and Sarge (the dog)

Cozy and Convenient!!!

  • 5 of 5

We just got home from a 5 day stay at this cabin. If you want convenience and coziness...this is the perfect spot. There were 5 of us...4 adults and 1 eleven year old. The beds were so comfortable and my grandson, who slept on the couch, said it was very comfortable as well. While in the cabin, we enjoyed sitting outside on the patio, relaxing in the hot tub and playing pool and air hockey upstairs.

It is very convenient to everything!!! We had planned a trip to Dollywood and Splash Country. This cabin is 5 minutes away from both. It is also just 5 minutes away from the main strip though town, yet off the main road enough to get away from the noise of it all. Andy, the owner, is a great guy and gave us so much information about things to do and places to go. I would definitely stay at his cabin again and would recommend it to others.

Great place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

All the comforts of home, with everything provided. After busy days doing the tourist attractions, it was wonderful to come back to the cabin and fix dinner on the grill and relax in the hot tub. Close to town, but still felt like the country. Loved it.

Excellent Pigeon Forge location!

  • 3 of 5

House is very close to all the PIgeon Forge and Gatinburg area actions. Stores, restaurants, attractions, etc. all near by, some you could walk to.

2/2 downstairs, upstairs loft with pool table, not really into unless your trying to distract the kids. Has W&D, and all the kitchen appliances plus a/c for summer I assume, weather was beautiful during end of May. Couple of improvements, - unit has dry stacked wood for fireplace, very nice, but not a lighter, match, etc. to light it with. Also, could increase or charge "service product charge", say $10 and include basic kitchen cleaning and cooking supplies. Such as dishsoap, dish machine soap, foil, plastic wrap, napkins, laundry detergent, etc. (There's more then enough $1 stores to stock it from for a cheap cost, and don't forget the matches). Also, fan for master bedroom would be nice, even though there's an overhead one in 2nd bed.

Besides those easy fixes, would use again when I head back there. Again, great location.

Owner's Response: I appreciate constructive criticism and try to make reasonable accommodations and improvements, but this seems like a VERY UNFAIR RATING for not having matches, etc. Also please note that these guests who only gave a 3 star rating also say "WOULD USE AGAIN WHEN I HEAD BACK THERE." I always give my email address, home phone #, cell #, wife's cell #, & cleaners name & phone #. I also ask all my guests several times before, after, & during their stays to let me know if there's anything we can do to make their stays better so that we can make changes while they are there or at least for the next guest. This guest stayed for 3 nights over 2 weeks ago & we never got 1 word from him until he slams me with a negative 3 star review. In fact, I even gave him a 5 start guest rating which included overall experience and communication. Obviously, I should not have given him such a high rating if he can't communicate with me about his concerns & then slams me with a 3 star rating which isn't a very good overall experience (items which are rated). We have a new cleaner. We had discussed what was furnished, but I wanted to confirm what is furnished, so I contacted him after receiving this review. This is his response, "Hello hope all is well. We always provide and put in cabins the needed supplies for a starter pack. Dishwashing detergent little bottle. A pack of dishwashing powder for dishwater and 1 roll of paper towels as well. So not sure why they stated that." We have never provided laundry detergent (some people like our daughter prefer specific brands due to allergies/skin conditions, etc.), matches, foil, plastic wrap, etc. As the guest says, those items are easily obtainable & not expensive. In fact, there's a convenience store about 200 yards from the cabin. Not everyone uses those items, so I don't think it's worth adding another $10 to the cost of renting the cabin. As a guest, I would not like to be charged $10 for matches to light a fireplace when it's 100 degrees in the summer. Although he says "WOULD USE AGAIN WHEN I HEAD BACK THERE" I doubt that will be the case since I have the final say about who stays in my cabin. Many people only look at the star rating & don't even bother reading the reviews. Consequently, many people won't even consider renting this cabin because of his UNFAIR RATING. Therefore, I can't afford to allow him to stay in any of my cabins again.

Family Vaca 2015 Smoky Mountains

  • 4 of 5

Oh, Bear Footin was a great log cabin in which to make memories in the Pigeon Forge area of the Great Smoky Mountains. Along with my two daughters and three grandsons, we had a wonderful family vacation. The cabin is conveniently located to the attractions of the area. Dollywood was just a couple of miles away. Horseback riding, tubing, the Smoky Mountain Opry and even Ober Gatlinburg were a short distance away. The owner, Andy, is a prince of a fellow. Prior to our visit, he e-mailed information regarding the area that proved helpful the entire time.

Owner's Response: Very nice guests and look forward to their return. I really appreciate the nice review, but emphasizes one of my issues with reviews. As you can see, the review was great & I've communicated with the guests who really liked the cabin, but it only has a 4 star rating instead of 5 star. Like teachers, some guests consider 4 stars to be exceptional, so that's as high as they rate. Other guests have said they have written reviews, but had no option on the star rating. It was assigned automatically. At any rate, the guests were very nice & I appreciate their taking the time to write the review.

Owner's Response: Such a WONDERFUL GUEST!! They have been very understanding & cooperative during the entire booking and renting process. I really look forward to having these guests return and hope to make their next stay even better than this one. They seemed to especially appreciate the inside tips I was able to provide about attractions in the area.
