Why John and Karen chose Harpswell
Incredible shorefront and views, our kids love it!

Additional pet surcharge of $75/pet/week.
Must be under supervision at all times.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
A wonderful place for a family get-away.
Awesome location with private beach
Owners were very responsive and the house is in a great location to see all that Harpswell has to offer. We enjoyed the beach, kayaking around the sound, and the nearby lobster pounds (we recommend Allen's). Would love to return!!
The property was easy to find and a pleasure to stay at. I wish I could transport the porch swing and view to my own house!
When we reached out to the owners there were extremely attentive and friendly. Our family was sad to say goodbye.
The location was in a central place, so under an hour to Portland (south) and Popham (north) and shopping in Freeport. The Harpswell town is so cute and I highly recommend the Curtis trail if you have kids with you!
Perfect setting for family time.
We had a wonderful 5 day stay at Schooner Landing celebrating our youngest son’s graduation from Bowdoin College. The cottage is beautiful, very comfortable and clean with magnificent view.
My husband and I, our 3 grown sons, 2 daughter in laws and 3 grandkids stayed in the cottage and did not feel crowded.
We enjoyed waking up to the magnificent view and the sound of the water and birds.
The only issue we had to work with was the lack of water pressure but we adjusted to it by making sure that two people were not showering at the same time.
We definitely will return!
Hi Daisy! Thank you so much for staying at SChooner Landing and for your review! We just installed a fancy new water filtration system which I think is what is limiting water pressure, Thank you for letting us know. Have a wonderful summer and we hope you and your family can return.

Great location and view
We needed a short stay to visit family in Maine and the owners were very accommodating.
The kitchen in this home is well equipped and the living space is large and comfortable. The setting is quiet and private and the beachfront is a fabulous place for skipping rocks, exploring during low tide, or just admiring the beauty of the ocean. There is sleeping space for 9. Four of these beds are bunkbeds in one room. One bed is a futon in a nook off the stairs. The other two rooms have queen size beds. This is important when you figure the sleeping accomdations for more adults than children.
The owners have set their home up to be open and inviting to guests. There are no "locked" rooms and guests have full access to the garage, the unfinished basement, and a game room closet. This may be unimportant to some but this fact makes us feel trusted and respected when we rent.
As with many properties on the coast of Maine, the quality of drinking water needs to be considered. We purchased large containers of water and disregarded the side effects of living on an island such as staining of toilets, water odor, and the water quality in the showers. (please don't consider this a big issue, just a heads up for those that expect pristine environments from a "cabin" home on the water in the beauty of untouched land on the coast.)
Parking is great for 2-3 cars but planning where to park for easy in and out needs preparations as the property is on a beautiful and gradual slope down toward the ocean. This may make the sand/lawn in the driveway slippery during run off from the rain but will not make it a reason to discount this as a rental.
Like most rentals on the coast of Maine, this property offers real down to earth living and simple advantages. Great house for the money.
You can say enough about this cottage. There is something for everyone. The little beach is great for throwing rocks and the water is calm. So everyone can play or swim in the water. We rented paddle boards that the company droppped off and picked up, which only addded to family fun. It's a great cottage for families plus a great location.
The Town of Harpswell, located on Casco Bay, Is a short scenic ride from Portland, Freeport, Bath and Boothbay Maine. Harpswell is the unspoiled coastal community that is accessible by way of the beautiful Bowdoin College town of Brunswick. Harpswell is a unique coastal community which recently celebrated its 250th birthday. For over 100 years Harpswell has been a mecca for vacationers seeking a saltwater environment, a serene way of life, and an abundance of natural beauty. Its 216 miles of coastline consists of Harpswell Neck, the three large islands of
Sebascodegan (Great Island), Orr’s, and Bailey, which are connected by bridges, the most notable being The Cribstone Bridge, and a scattering of over 200 smaller islands accessible only by boat. With some of the few remaining working harbors on the Maine coast, it offers an authenticity of which we are proud.
Harpswell has it all! Light houses, Ocean views, walking trails, beaches, Historical sites, working lobster harbors and marinas all here in the Mid Coast Maine region.
