Quintessential French experience in one of the most beautiful towns in the South of France. The apartment is decorated in exquisite taste, very spacious & well equipped. Surprisingly quiet given its perfect location on Place des Herbes. I wouldn’t give it 10 if I could!
Brilliant location and decor but...
The Place outside our windows, car-less, tree-filled, history-laden and quiet, and not touristy at this time of year, must be the most beautiful in France. The pedestrianised central town ditto. The apartment is well equipped and spacy. Bathrooms and kitchen are excellent. The cool colour scheme is wonderful. The decorative touches (dead sewing machine, typewriter, books pinned in frame like dead butterflies, etc.) are a bit naff and tricksy, but our only real gripe is the discomfort of the living room seating, all built for sit-up-straight pygmies! How we longed for a sofa or two to loll in! We were here a week after all. Could also do with small bedside mats on cold floor. And brief car-loading access to the square at the start and end of the stay for semi-disabled oldies like us surely wouldn’t be impossible to organise - even if not on market-day Saturday? Otherwise this beautiful flat can’t be faulted.
A Beautiful Space in a Charming Town
The photos and video of La Belle Vie do the property justice. What is also there are so many thoughtful touches that made the stay wonderful. Things like dimmers lights, a bottle of rose wine on arrival, great welcome book with lots of interesting information, kitchen items like paper towels, WiFi that worked, and so many other things. The apartment has all of the modern amenities but maintains the atmosphere of an ancient and wonderful building and town. The kitchen is a dream to work in. All of the utensils and gadgets that make cooking a breeze and we took full advantage. Uzes is a charming town and there where so many nice places to shop, not to mention the amazing market on Saturday and Wednesday. Dominique was great to work with while planning the trip and we were exceptionally grateful that her Mom met us and showed us into the apartment. If there was one concern it was that the beds were firmer than we are used to, That was made up for with a wonderful soak in that glorious bathtub. We can highly recommend La Belle Vie.
Better than my Imagination!
La Belle Vie was even more beautiful, more welcoming, more calming than our family dreamed it would be! Simply put, this Villa was enchanting. Everything you need is there including the antique radio you didn't realize you needed! (It plays via bluetooth; download some French music and soak it all in) What a WONDERFUL TOUCH! We shopped the Saturday market (a MUST) for everything fresh & delicious for our Saturday evening dinner. Highly recommended. The vendors were so welcoming. Day trips abound Uzes; it's a photographer's dream.
Lastly, I couldn't say enough about Domonique. Her voice was so welcomed by the time we made it there and I can't thank her enough for going above & beyond to help w/our luggage glitch. Thank you.
Read the Welcome Book. It is thoughtfully and thoroughly put together. Everything you need to know is there. Well done.
Exquisite decor, stunning location, not a thing out of place!
Having reviewed previous tenants' reviews, and the bio of the apartment with the pictures included, we were very excited to secure our 2 week tenure in this beautiful apartment right in the heart of Uzes. Imagine our delight on arrival to find the photos did not do it justice! A welcoming bottle of French wine awaited the weary travellers. The apartment is located in the Place eau Herbes, where the twice weekly market is held - right under our window!
Apart from our personal requirements and food, every need was anticipated, with quality linen, fixtures and fittings. To our delight, even the knives in the kitchen were super sharp which my husband (the chef) was very pleased about as he normally brings his own when we travel. Management were incredibly helpful were needed, and by the time our 2 weeks came to a close, we felt we had been living "at home" in our own apartment. A wonderful feeling.
Our highest recommendations for anyone considering visiting this amazing Village and needing quality accommodation in an amazing location.
Thank you for the wonderful review! It was so lovely meeting you and Michael, even though I would have liked to enjoy a glass of wine together as well:) Next time! Hope you come back at some point! Cheers, Dominique
