About Diana Ghezzi
I am 65 years old and of half Swedish and half English birth. Now happily married to an Italian and we have two grown-up sons, Nicolo and Guido. My husband and I live in the main villa on a wine and olive oil estate which has belonged to my husband's family for over 500 years, and the villa we offer to you is one of the original farm houses on this estate. We are very much 'hands on' and try to give guests the maximum help and comfort possible. The area is beautiful, and private, and yet within a few minutes of main routes to a large number of wonderful cities in Tuscany, principally of course Florence.
Why Diana Ghezzi chose Scandicci
The property has belonged to my husband's family for over 500 years and is full of ancient charm and character

Must definitely stay here!
This property and farmhouse is spectacular! The location is perfect to explore the various wineries and villages/towns. Four women stayed here for 21 days and the house easily accommodated all of us. The bedrooms are spacious and beautifully furnished with an abundance of closets and dressers for clothes. The 2 bathrooms are modern and the showers have excellent water pressure(important to women)! The farmhouse is so charming and very nicely furnished. The views of the rolling hills and vineyards are breathtaking. There is a large terrace that has a sitting area and eating area and we loved eating outside and soaking in the atmosphere. It was a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. The pool was also a fabulous way to unwind and cool down. It also has a very pretty view.We had a car and everyday we easily explored the nearby villages and wineries. Everything you'd want to see was within an hours drive. Diana was so gracious and so helpful. She even greets you with a bottle of delicious wine from her vineyard. She has a very detailed book in the beautiful living room with helpful suggestions. We referred to it daily. Diana made our stay there even more special. If you need anything she is there to respond to your questions immediately, either by phone or email. My friends and I will miss her and her farmhouse. We would definitely stay here again and I am looking forward to a return visit. This region is just so beautiful! We fell in love with our house and if I could rate it higher than the 5 stars, I most certainly would. Staying here was the highlight of our 10 week vacation in Southern France and the Tuscany area.
Wonderful setting with a fantastic view
This is a lovely traditional Tuscan house in a tiny hamlet which is situated on the owner's olive and vineyard estate. It is situated in the hills surrounding Florence, so not only do you have wonderful views to look at from the shaded terrace, you have the convenience of a 40 mins trip into Florence when you want to do a bit of sightseeing. The pool is shared with only 2 of the other little houses in the hamlet (also rented out by the owner), so you often have it to yourselves! Diana is a very attentive host (without infringing on your privacy). with some very insightful advice on things to do in the area.
Thank you so very much for your kind and descriptive review. I do appreciate it. You were the perfect guests and it was a real pleasure to have you staying here. Yes, it was truly hot, the hottest July on record in Italy, but luckily there is always a breeze at Peccioli and the pool is of course a blissful escape. Thank you for coming, and I do hope you may return one day.
Great Tuscan getaway
Traditional Tuscan farmhouse in a gorgeous and quiet setting. We loved leisurely meals out on the patio, and in the July heat the pool was perfect. Diana was a gracious and reachable host, and even assisted us when we had a small medical issue.
Thank you Piccolo Piccioli!
Thank you so very much for your kind and complimentary review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at Piccolo Peccioli so much and found it a good place to be in the hottest July in Italy on record! It was a pleasure to have you as guests and I do hope you may return one day.
Perfect slice of Tuscany
A fantastic location in a rustic , well equipped traditional Tuscan farmhouse. Very good detailed suggestions for trips, restaurants etc provided in a folder in the farmhouse. Made use of the shared pool which we had all to ourselves.
Worth while noting that we didn’t have a bad meal and the restaurants are very clued up on gluten free ( senza glutine).
Thank you so much for such a lovely review. I am so glad the House Book was so useful and that you were comfortable despite the heat wave that settled over Tuscany in June. It is difficult to eat badly in Italy!, But we are lucky enough to have a good selection of restaurants nearby and it is interesting to know that they can so easily and satisfatorily offer gluten free meals. . I do hope to see you back here again one day...
My family and I stayed at Piccolo Peccioli from September 3-11, 2018. This was such a wonderful holiday for us. We were 6 adults staying at the villa. The accommodations were very nice. The villa was charming, keeping the rustic flare. I couldn't help looking around and picturing the people that lived there so long ago, moving about the rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed the villa, the terrace areas and the pool. We would go into Florence which was conveniently located, approximately a 20 minute tram ride into the city center. The architecture was just amazing. The leather goods were incredible. We also took day trips to Cinque Terra, Siena, San Gimignano, and Lucca; every city has it's own charm. We fell in love with all of them. Diana is such a lovely person and goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. She left us bottles of wine made from the grapes grown on their land, and I have to say it is the best wine I've ever had! We purchased some to take home! She truly is a wonderful person and I hope to stay in touch with her. We would definitely visit Piccolo Peccioli again!
What a lovely, lovely review you have written for us, Thank You so much. It really makes me happy to think of guests enjoying their holiday at Peccioli and going away with smiling, relaxed faces and enriching memories. My family and I are so lucky to live in this gorgeous area of Tuscany with easy access to Florence and so many beautiful cities and special places like Cinque Terre - it is a joy to be able to share it..
Thank you again so much for your appreciative words.- and I do hope you come back to stay again!
Beautiful villa in a great location
Perfect spot for a family vacation. 3 BR, 2 bathrooms, pool, beautiful patio and scenery. The owner was extremely helpful, with recommendations of things to do and places to go. Will definitely try to make it back soon.
Thank you so much for your complimentary review. I am really glad you enjoyed your stay and particuarly that you found the near-at- home less known corners of Tuscany as charming and beautiful as I do myself. Far from the crowds there is so much to see and one gets closer to the true atmosphere of this lovely country. Thank you, and do come back to explore further ...!
The farmhouse is part of a tiny hamlet of three houses in a private estate, at the end of a country road with no through traffic. The views in all directions are panoramic and beautiful, particularly at sun rise and sun set. The surrounding countryside is unspoilt, with vineyards, olive groves and wooded hills which can be explored on foot. The estate produces wine and olive oil which can be obtained from the owners who live nearby and who are also on hand to help in any way. The nearest village S. Vincenzo a Torri, is 3 kms away, from where there is easy access to main autostrada routes in the direction of Siena, Pisa, Rome and Bologna.. Central Florence is 15 kms away and can be reached by tramway from the nearest tram station in Scandicci, 7 kms. The local village provides an excellent bar for breakfasts and lunches, and there are several very good restaurants in the vicinity. The farmhouse is comfortable and characteristic with terracotta floors and beamed ceilings, and there is a spacious outside semi covered terrace with a stunning view and a dining area to up to 12 people.
