Since most the boys were Lineman we called this stay Electric
This was a great spot to stay for a guys weekend. Location is a short drive to Old Port where we spent most of our time. When we weren't out and about the backyard with a fire pit and corn hole boards was perfect for hanging out. Ryan was great and responsive.

Thank you!
This is an awesome place to stay. Very spacious and clean! The internet was being tricky… but that wasn’t a problem for us.

Nice neighborhood but a little tired
The house has lots of potential but needs to be refreshed. The dryer did not work and I needed to fix the wifi because that was not working when we arrived.

This place has parking. That’s huge in Portland.
The house was situated in a very convenient area, with a grocery store 5 min away, Tesla superchargers 5 min away, hospital/urgent care, and a great coffee place 5 min away. Downtown Portland is easy to drive to although impossible to park in, very glad I went with this house because when you have multiple people with multiple cars you’re gonna want an easy place to park them. The house seems to be in a nice area, it’s a place I’d feel comfortable walking around in after dark. Also the owner is really communicative, helpful if you’ve got a problem or need information. One thing I’d warn people about is the delivery options in the area are pretty meh. But there’s so many good places to pick up food in downtown Portland which is like, 10 minutes away, I’d recommend that instead.

Lovely place
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay in Portland! The place was very clean when we arrived, Ryan was extremely communicative about check-in and check-out details, and the amenities themselves were fantastic. The backyard is actually much larger than it appears in the photos. The dining room Is large enough to comfortably have a meal around a full table, and the kitchen is big enough to make one. The house is a bit far to walk into downtown Portland, but the drive is very quick! Due to rain, we weren't able to enjoy the fire pit or outdoor shower but are glad to have an excuse to visit again!

About the host

Hey, I'm Ryan! I grew up in New Hampshire, have moved back & forth from the West four different times, but call Portland my home base. Love to snowboard, ski, mountain bike, surf, hike, and generally be outside as much as possible, and traveling to new places to enjoy those activities. You'll find a few things from past trips to Mexico and Japan decorating the house!

I work as a digital strategist remotely for an environmental protection non-profit but love to host and show off Portland, so I'll be excited to host you no matter the reason you're coming into town!

Why they chose this property

When considering moving back East, and wanting to be in a cool, smaller city with proximity to the ocean and mountains, that was a list of one real quick. I was lucky to find a beautiful old colonial that just needed a little updating, but had a spacious, open floor plan. Since taking over the house, I've satiated my need to be outside by installing (by hand, by myself... don't ask) a gravel patio in the backyard with a fire pit, outdoor dining table, and outdoor shower so I can rinse off under the foliage of the beautiful cherry maples in the backyard when I come back from the beach or mountains. It's my favorite space at the house!

What makes this property unique

The indoor/outdoor space in the backyard patio under gorgeous old maple trees, and the proximity to the trails and beaches where I surf, run, and mountain bike, as well as the proximity to bike into downtown Portland!
