About clive gray
I am a retired development economist, spent most of my career with the Harvard Institute for International Development, am spending much of my time during retirement in promoting land conservation in Greensboro, the surrounding area and Vermont overall.
clive gray purchased this House in 1963
Why clive gray chose Greensboro
Property was built by my parents as their dream house, is now owned by a family trust. My four siblings and I grew up spending their summers in Greensboro, to which our grandparents first brought their family in 1910.
What makes this House unique
Greensboro is a beautiful rural area, located in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Much community recreation centers around 700-acre Caspian Lake. Two of The Nature Conservancy's 55 preserves in Vermont are located in Greensboro, one of them abutting the vacation rental property.

The most beautiful view in the world
Super charming family home- full of character and great books! Well equipped with all one needs for a perfect vacation. One very minor point- couldn’t find lake access described in guest book.
We customarily show guests the lake access as soon as they arrive. Obviously in the present case we failed to do this. Guests are entitled to insist on it.
We just came back from spending 5 days at the Gray Eyrie. We all wished we had booked for the whole week.
You can't beat the view. We enjoyed our dinners in the backyard overlooking the lake and its surroundings. We took many pictures.
The Eyrie is perfect for people who are looking for a peaceful retreat that is still close to many places to visit. From the house we had direct access to Barr Hill. That was a great hike. The Greensboro grocery store is only 5 minutes away. It offers anything you need to cook a delicious meal. We also had tea at a lovely place in Hardwick called the Perennial Pleasures Nursery.
The property also offers a private access to the lake that you share with renters from the guest house.
The owner of the house, Clive, is very friendly and welcoming.
Thank you Clive for renting out your beautiful property. We'll be back!
We stayed 11 days and would love to return. The house was clean, sunlit and beautiful, with all the amenities you need and none you don't need. The tranquility, the amazing birdsong, the views and lake swims are unsurpassed. As an illustration of the peacefulness, we took a hike to the adjoining nature reserve and suddenly heard a low rumbling breaking the silence. Turns out it was the sound of cows chewing. Thank you!
The house and location are superb. Meeting the owners was also a special treat.
Peaceful, relaxing and beautiful. Quiet too!
A place to be for a little solitude from the bustle of urban life and to enjoy what the
Northeast Kingdom is about.
Exceeded my expectations!
