About the Owner

We, the Morgans, have owned the Fox's Den Chalet for 17 years. How quickly time flies!

We live in southeastern Indiana (close to Cincinnati, OH)- we have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Our daughter has 4 children and they enjoy the Fox's Den with us at least 2 times a year. Our youngest grandchild lives in Texas and has not made a trip to Gatlinburg yet, but am sure it will be in his future.

We take great pride in keeping the Fox's Den a 'Home Away from Home' for our guests. We realize if we go the extra mile, our guests will have a pleasant experience in the beautiful Gatlinburg area.

Whether it be a 3-day weekend or a 2-week vacation, memories last a life-time and we hope you and your family will create wonderful memories in the Fox's Den Chalet as our family has done over the last 17 years.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The house was clean, cozy, and well-stocked. However, we were disapointed that the 'second bedroom' was only a loft room and was not enclosed. This was uncomfortable for two couples traveling together because of the lack of privacy. Also we could not use the hot tub because it was dirty.

Perfect Base Camp

  • 5 of 5

The chalet was perfect for my wife, daughter, and I. It was far enough out of Gatlinburg which provided plenty of routes to skirt the heavy traffic in the city center, yet close enough, that it wasn't an ordeal to run out to get last minute supplies or take in some entertainment. We make it to Gatlinburg at least once a year, but rarely in the spring, some of the trails with the wildflowers in April and I am assuming May are gorgeous.

We didn't have any issues with the chalet, there were only 3 of us, but there was ample room, quiet setting, and a great hot tub for soaking our calves after climbing all the stairs at Mingo falls(A must see).

Thank you Charles and Sharon!!

A Little Piece of Heaven in the Mountains

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent a week at Fox's Den and it was perfect. Charles and Sharon made everything so easy and the cabin is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Cabin is located close enough to downtown Gatlinburg for a quick visit and once you learn the back roads it is a beautiful ride to Pigeon Forge. I loved being in the Arts and Crafts Community as well. There are stairs so if you have difficulty walking stairs it might be a challenge. We were going to take our two dogs but decided because of the hot weather to let them stay in the comfort of their own home but we're grateful for the option to take them. Will plan our next stay with Charles and Sharon at Fox's Den. Thank you

Great place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is in a very quiet cul de sac. It felt like living in a tree house because it is elevated and the trees surround the cabin. It was delightful sitting on the balcony or in the hot tub. The cabin is very well furnished and had everything we needed. Far enough from the touristy downtown to feel like a world apart, but definitely close enough to enjoy all Gatlinburg has to offer. Very close to the arts and crafts area. Lots of stairs.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the kind words about the Fox's Den Chalet! We are thrilled when our guests have such a great time. The cabin is so secluded and quiet but when you prefer to be downtown Gatlinburg, you're not very far at all....the best of both worlds. Thank you again for spending the week! Glad you enjoyed yourself and look forward to your next stay at the Fox's Den Chalet on your Gatlinburg vacation!

Extended Vacation Stay

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Foxs Den was very relaxing. We stayed 9 nights in this chalet and returned home refreshed. Not only was the cabin very clean inside and out, it was very inviting. You will find little extras here that make traveling that much easier. One of the challenges of renting a cabin is trying to remember everything to bring, especially for the kitchen. When you arrive here, take a look in the cabinets before heading off to the store. You will find condiments, spices, snacks, and many more items that you just wouldn't think to bring, but would end up shopping for.

Tastefully decorated, you can't help but feel comfortable from the moment you walk through the door. Having the chalet wired with free wi-fi (and a great connection) helped when we wanted to go online. Before going online to seek out what's available, go through the binder. It is packed with information about the Smoky Mountains and things in the area. There's room for guests of Fox's Den to write in their own comments are area attractions and eateries.

Charles and Sharon go to great lengths to make sure that your vacation in the Smokies is exactly what it's supposed to be - stress free! For the price, you're not going to find a more pleasant place to unwind.

Weekend away

  • 5 of 5

We took a family getaway with our in-laws. We really enjoyed staying in the cabin! It was the perfect size for all of us. It was easy to find and just a short drive to downtown Gatlinburg. The cabin was clean and cozy. It was a nice place to come back to and relax after a long day of sightseeing! The owners were great with getting back to me anytime I had questions. They made our stay that much more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone!

Quiet & Cozy

  • 5 of 5

I met my friend at Fox's Den for a girl's getaway weekend. It was the perfect size and space for me and my toddler, and for her and her two dogs. The place was clean and comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked. The cabin was easy to find and about 15 minutes away from downtown Gatlinburg. Perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing and activities.
