One could happily spend time just exploring the neighborhood, or just as easily hop onto a street car and head downtown to museums, concert halls, live theaters or cabaret.

For quick farther jaunts to the East Bay or the Wine Country, freeway access to both 101 and 280 are both less than a mile away. In addition, the SFO airport takes only 15 minutes by car or a taxi ride for about $40.

Great location, perfect for our family's SF visit!

We had a great stay at the Pied-a-terre! It is in a great location, beautifully kept, very clean and welcoming. The owners provided all the information we needed in a convenient notebook. We really appreciated the groceries available upon our arrival as our kids love yogurt and the cereal and coffee really came in handy. Thanks so much for everything, we will be back!

Duncan Street - great place

Duncan Street was wonderful. Everything I wanted and expected - and more. Tasteful, quiet, comfortable, clean - just great. Good neighborhood for taking walks and for public transportation to everywhere else!

A Perfect Pied-aTerre

This is a really nice place, and although we were only 2 adults, it could easily accommodate 4....very roomy! All rooms are nicely decorated, (love the vintage stove) beds very comfortable, great towels and linens and most importantly: GREAT LOCATION! The transport system in SFC is so easy to use, so don't bring your car: you won't need it! Maggie's Cafe and Incanto (right around the corner) were great! And, Ed, our host is such a wonderful guy!

Perfect for our family of three.

We enjoyed staying at the Duncan house. At first we thought we had stayed too far away from the Fisherman's Wharf area, but once we became familiar with the trains\busses, we were happy with the location. It is located in a nice quiet neighborhood but within walking distance of neighborhood restaurants and stores. The 2 bedroom apartment had everything we needed for our stay and we also enjoyed the outdoor area in the back of the building.

All arrangements prior to arriving and once we arrived went very smoothly and Ed allowed us to keep our luggage inside the building past checkout time since our flight wasn't leaving until later in the day. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at Duncan House if we return to San Francisco.

Hotel-quality Accommodations

Really nice place. All new appliances, bathroom etc... Lots of nice touches like soap, towels in the bathroom. Clearly set up for hosting guests (no random personal items left out and around). Conveniently located in between Noe and the Mission near good bars like El Rio. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Ed's place was up to date, clean and far exceeded the VRBO information on the listing! When we tried to contact Ed with a question, he was readily available. If we return to San Francisco, this Noe Valley property will definitely be the one we will try to rent again!! Thank you Ed!

For me, food is important - and Noe Valley has outstanding farmer's markets, ethnic grocery stores, and bakeries. Happily Noe Valley has lots of street life and great restaurants.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : SFO at 10 Miles Car: not necessary

Duncan House is proximate to three distinctive San Francisco neighborhoods: Noe Valley -known as the preferred locale of young families with sunny weather, bistros, and walkable streets; the Mission - lively nightlife, funky stores, and wide-ranging ethnic restaurants; Glen Park - a bit more toned-down, but again the home of good food, tree-lined blocks, and a handy BART station.

  • OFF-STREET PARKING: Unfortunately we have none, but on-street parking is fairly available with the caution to heed signs which note street-sweeping days and time limitations. But to repeat: The J-Church trolley line is one block away and runs regularly to provide access to any part of the city easily. Apartments is smoke-free. Cleaning products used are unscented whenever possible.
