About the property

2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6 maximum (4 adults & 2 children)

This lovely vacation townhome is located at the Snow Summit Ski Resort, the perfect spot for skiers, snowboarders and mountain bikers. Walk right up to the chair lifts! Bikes can be locked up securely on the porch, right outside the huge picture window. The location is beautiful and peaceful. There are pine tree views from every window. Relax on the raised deck or in front of the roaring 18-foot high stone fireplace. High pitched ceilings give an open, airy feeling. Got allergies or just fussy about cleanliness? This is the place for you. Completely renovated, with new carpet and hard flooring, new beds and bedding, furniture and appliances. Well kept and tastefully decorated throughout, with a woodsy feel. Master suite has queen bed with it's own bathroom. Second bedroom has Full bed and bunk bed, as well as a TV with DVD. Second bathroom is adjacent to second bedroom. Enjoy a barbecue on the deck on a star-filled evening, then choose a movie from the video library.

Ski / Board: This is as good as you can get in Big Bear. You are right at Snow Summit, Southern California's premier ski resort. Walk right up to the ski lifts, then come home to comfort at the end of a great day on the slopes.

Mountain Bike: This is where hard-core mountain bikers gather. The lifts will take you to the top of the mountain - how you get down is up to you!

Expanded mountain bike runs, with more being added. Ziplining is now added as well, along with bar & grill amenities.

Golf / Hike / Fish: How will you find time to do everything that Big Bear offers? Do it all, or do nothing at all as you relax and take in the serene mountain environment.

About Bart

When Bart and Carol Ann purchased this property in 2006, it was in 'original' condition, as if it were frozen in the 1970's. Lots of work and money later, it is one of the nicest townhomes in the Escape complex, and very close to the Snow Summit action - but without the noise.

This is our personal family vacation home, and we take good care of it. If you are willing to do the same, we would like to rent to you.

Bart purchased this townhome in 2006

Why Bart chose Big Bear

This is the perfect location to be in Big Bear! Right next to the premier ski resort in SoCal, it's wonderful year round. The mountains are a wonderful, peaceful place to get away and enjoy life. Enjoy the pleasant environment at the base of Snow Summit.

What makes this townhome unique

You can hike, bike, ski, board, go boating, or do nothing at all. Right outside our front door is Snow Summit. Walk to and from the slopes for fun skiing. In spring/summer/fall, take your mountain bike up the lift to the top and enjoy the ride down the fire roads and trails. Lots of hiking trails and wildlife to see. You don't even need to get in your car once you arrive.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My husband and I took our two little ones to Big Bear for the first time. We found Bart's place and from the photos and location, felt that this would be a good option. It was absolutely perfect. The downstairs provided more than adequate living, dining and kitchen space. The upstairs afforded us multiple options for sleeping arrangements- our three year old loved the bunk beds and the baby was comfortable in a pack and play that fit easily in either bedroom. The location was fantastic- we didn't know the area and wanted to be close to the heart of the city but far enough away for a quiet retreat- this place satisfied both needs. We could walk to Snow Summit to ride the lift for a nice walk on top of the mountain. It was a short drive to the zoo, lake, restaurants, etc. Parking was close to the front door- a few steps and short walk down a path. Bart was a wonderful host. He answered our naive questions thoroughly and gave nice suggestions for eateries and activities. We absolutely plan to return next year and would stay here again.

A lovely condo in a great location

  • 5 of 5

I spent 3 great nights in this lovely condominium. The housekeeping is immaculate and the condo has many small touches that make it quite special. It is REALLY close to the Snow Summit lifts. Easy walking distance even for us older guys to get to the slopes. You will happy with these accommodations.

This was a nice condo close to the ski resort. I think our only complaint would be that it is too dark. Needs more interior lighting. It was the perfect size for our party of four.

First time here and it won't be the last time. Cabin is in great shape and very clean and beds are comfortable. Very close to the road that goes around the complex which is great for when you arrive and depart. Perfect amount of dishes needed in the kitchen.

Two minute walk to Snow Summit (look for the short cut at the West end just behind a large green storage container and it will leave you at the Snow Summit jr class building) if even that. My son and I spent all mornings at SS and walked back for lunch and it was great.

Because of all the amount of slow parking was limited. But then again all of Big Bear was like that. Bart was great in giving us all the Info we needed for our stay and wifi works great.

I would suggest to bring a few cooking pans if your going to be cooking a lot as we did. Just because of the fact there are only a few pans in the kitchen, no big deal. We cooked some steaks one night and the fire alarms would keep going off so be aware of that.

Enjoy your stay as we did.

Great stay had a blast and will stay here again

This is a great location for skiing being so close to Snow Summit!

During the summer is quiet and peaceful... very relaxing location.

A short drive into town and a jewel of a town it is!

A lot to offer from hiking, kayaking, etc. outdoors to eating and drinking and music at The Cave as well as street musicians .

We are committed to maintaining a non-allergenic environment in our mountain home. All carpeting, hard flooring, draperies, bedding, pillows, appliances, paint, etc. has been recently replaced. For this reason, we cannot accommodate pets of any kind (even well-behaved ones), nor do we allow smoking in our home. This is a very clean, tastefully decorated, high-quality residence. Spring breakers and party animals need not apply. This is the owner’s personal vacation home, and the owners make every effort to keep it in top condition. It is expected that all guests treat it with the same respect they would give to their own home. Thank you for your understanding.
