About Ryan

I live in Las Vegas, NV with my wife Julie and our 4 kids.

I have been a medical sales rep. for 10 years.

Ryan purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Ryan chose Utah

My wife and I fell in love with Zion National park and our cabin area after my Uncle organized a family reunion in the area. We purchased a one acre parcel and built our cabin in 2007. We love making family memories in our cabin and the surrounding area.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We were here for our annual women's retreat and we absolutely love your home. The decor is beautiful, the house is beautiful. We appreciate you opening up your home to us and we just thank God for leading us to Zion Ponderosa Ranch. We will most definitely be back! Thank you.

Excellent property. Very spacious!

  • 5 of 5

Mountain Star is the name of this rental. It was one of the nicest and largest. It easily slept our group of 15. Everything inside was nice, plenty of bathroom supplies, and all the kitchen supplies. We didn't need to bring a thing, although we brought disposable utensils and plates just in case. Everything was perfect! Thank you!

Wonderful Home, Would Stay Here Again!

  • 5 of 5

This home was absolutely PERFECT for our family and friends as we visited Zion National Park. We absolutely fell in love with the place the minute we drove up the driveway. The home was more than we expected!! It was spacious, clean, comfortable and fully stocked for our large group of 20. We knew stores were not close by so we stopped at Costco in St. George and brought in food, so having 2 refrigerators was terrific and the kitchen has everything! During our stay at the home we saw deer walking around the property, a jackrabbit, and what a treat to enjoy the sound of an owl one early morning. Us city people rarely experience these wonderful creatures. We loved the ping pong table! We really enjoyed the grill and eating outside on the deck, as we relished the peace and quiet. We are from the Los Angeles area and we needed the peace and quiet.

Ryan was a delight to correspond with from the first time booking and was highly responsive up to our arrival. His only request was to remove our shoes when walking on the carpet area. This would be a request I would ask of my guests if I owned the home too.

For many of us it was our first time seeing Zion. We would definitely stay here again!! The only thing we would change is to stay longer than 3 nights. We cannot thank Ryan enough for renting his beautiful home to us and we can’t wait to stay again!!

Clean, big, perfect for a big group. Good activities around the property. Good Wifi too.

We had a lot of adults and kids and there was plenty of room. Kitchen was great and the patio gave plenty of outdoor space. We have stayed here twice and loved it both times. Fire pit is great in the winter and pool was perfect in the summer.

Beautiful, clean, and well-kept home on a large secluded lot. Exactly as described!

  • 5 of 5

Family of 18 from age 3 months to age 70-- we had a wonderful visit to Zion! The Kitchen was a dream as cookware, etc was plentiful. The second fridge in the garage was helpful to keep food and drinks stocked for the week since groceries/restaurants were not an easy trek. Bedrooms were super comfortable and linens were plentiful. The multi-bunk room was especially popular with all the kids as it became like their private club for TV and escape from the adults! Also, the pack-n-play for our infant traveler was a blessing. Bathrooms were well stocked and trash procedures were simple. Everything was clean and functional. Even the light switches were labeled so you did not have to guess what you were turning on!

The location is beautiful, and the proximity to Zion Ponderosa made it very easy to utilize their facilities for swimming, canyoneering tours, paint ball, etc. Many, many options just 1/2 mile from the house. Just a bit further is the entrance to Zion National Park. We found that getting into the park early helped eliminate traffic at the entrance gate and delays at the tunnels in the park (closed to one way traffic when RVs are moving so delays can be significant)

Also, when visiting Springdale, we would enter Zion National Park and drive to the visitor center-- park there, and walk across to the Springdale shuttles. This way you don't have to fight for parking spaces in Springdale, and we eliminated waiting in line at the southern national park entrance---literally waits to enter the park from Springdale side were 20 to 40 minutes--it was much quicker to stay parked at the visitor center and use the Springdale shuttles. Just know that traveling from the visitor center, through the park, and back to the house can vary greatly in travel time depending on the amount of traffic. That being said, there are some great places to eat in Springdale, but planning ahead for that is imperative. Same for grocery and liquor store needs--nice options are available-- just expect a 40 minute commute. This location was perfect for the seclusion and proximity to hikes that many participated in--meals and shopping were a little further away.

We also had family photos taken in Zion NP-- highly recommend Arika with Zion Adventure Photography if you want a unique experience for family portraits in this amazing setting.

Thank you, Ryan and Julie for providing such a perfect retreat for our family vacation!

Stunning property

  • 5 of 5

We would personally like to thank the owners for allowing us to rent their beautiful cabin in Zion. Having 5 kids limits us on what type of vacation we can take. I am so happy we bit the bullet this time and went for it. We've never had a "real" vacation before and we were beyond excited for our Zion trip. It definitely did not disappoint!! The cabin is absolutely stunning, the location is perfect and super close to ponderosa where the kids could have some down time at the pool. They also loves the zip line, rock climb and Chuck wagon ride and cowboy dinner. They also loved playing ping pong at the cabin and exploring around the property. They keep asking when we can come back again!!! 😍 I'd say that's a "win" for all of us. Thanks again and God Bless!

Car: necessary

Our Cabin is situated in an area called Zion Ridge that backs up to Zion National Park.

Although we are tucked away amongst the Ponderosa Pines outside Zion, we are very close to several other great areas of interest:

Brian Head Ski Resort (73 miles), Bryce Canyon N.P. (75 miles), Cedar Breaks N.P. (62 miles), Lake Powel (91 miles), Navajo Lake (51 miles), & Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park (25 miles).

If you are not interested in taking a short drive to these areas, you can take a short walk (300 yards) to an adjacent small mountain resort with many activities such as: ATV riding, horseback riding, shooting, paintballing, archery, zip line, a rock climbing wall, basketball/tennis court, horseshoes, and many other activities for adults and kids alike.

Don't be fooled, these activities are great fun, but it is sometimes more fun to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Other Activities: Rock Wall, ATV's, Zip Line, Paint Ball, Billiards, Ping Pong

Golf: There is a Par-3 golf course about 12 miles from the cabin at Mt Carmel junction.

Ski: Brian Head Ski Resort is the main resort most Las Vegans travel to for great Utah Snow Skiing.
