Such a lovely little cottage. We had busy days visiting all the best spots in Cornwall and then retreated to the peace and quiet of the cottage in the evenings. It was very private and secluded. Equipped out very well with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Wonderful holiday.
Great for a few days of tranquility

Well positioned, cosy and spotless
Great place to explore Cornwall. Property has everything really home from home with a cosy log burner for those chilly nights. Great welcome on arrival with scones jam and cream and milk in fridge. Would totally recommend
A fabulous retreat - 'Far from the Madding Crowd'
Claire and Bern have obviously thought carefully about how to furnish the cottage and what people might need and expect and as a result the cottage is comfortable, clean and well equipped. We were very warmly welcomed by Bern in the garden, and when we went inside the light, warm welcoming cottage, by a vase of wild flowers and a plate of delicious scones, jam and clotted cream on the pine kitchen table.
The cottage is extremely well located, nestling in the fields behind Newlyn and within easy striking distance of Penzance, Mousehole, St Ives and the wonderful Minack theatre. A beautiful place and we had a brilliant holiday. Thank you both.
really cozy cottage but needs two signs...at the corner and gate
lousy weather but the cozy cottage helped us to comfortably hibernate....wood fire, wall heaters and all mod cons , all we needed was food, drinks and a car would have been handy. Being an elderly Aussie negated the car rental possibility but taxi man Ian was most helpful. Enjoyed the rustic cottage garden/park in between showers. Cheers from Wayne and Lucine, Caboolture, Queensland.
We’re sorry your stay was marred by bad weather, unfortunately we have no control over that! The cottage is, as you say, warm and cosy, great for hunkering down and watching the flames in the wood burner; glad you enjoyed the cottage and garden.
Chyenhal Garden Cottage is situated on the Cornish Penwith Peninsula in beautiful countryside. Nine miles from Lands End it is just minutes away from Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole situated on stunning Mounts Bay. Step out of the door and walk from here along bridleways and through fields to the picturesque fishing harbour of Mousehole with its beach, restaurants and old world Ship Inn. It is here that you can join the South West Coast Path which affords some of the best coastal walking to be had anywhere.
Penzance itself is an attractive town with promenade, listed Lido and harbour, shops, restaurants, pubs and galleries. Explore Chapel St, see the Egyptian House and try great pubs like The Turks Head and Admiral Benbow [look out for bandits on the roof!]. Sea trips to look at the abundant wild life of the bay and coast on the sailing catamaran Marine Discovery are are highly recommended; this years highlights include huge numbers of dolphin and porpoise, an enormous shoal of Blue Fin Tuna and a Humpback Whale! The bay offers great sailing, kite surfing and sailboarding.
Newlyn is still a working harbour and is the place to go for all kinds of fish fresh from the boats. As well as the harbour and fish market there are restaurants, pubs and the historic Newlyn Art Gallery.
