About this property

Secluded lakeside paradise on Ft. Gibson Lake

Get away from it all in our secluded, charming lakeside cottage! The Lakeside Cottage is situated just between Jackson Bay Recreation Area and Cypress Cove Marina.

This property is perfect for couples, families, or a group of fishing buddies hoping to get on the water at the break of dawn.

This cozy home has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a spacious kitchen that opens to the living room, and a bright sunroom. It is located at the end of a private road and boasts a year-around breathtaking view of Fort Gibson Lake. A large deck overlooking the lake is perfect for barbecuing, picnicking, nature-watching or just relaxing. You will have a perfect view from the deck to watch the gorgeous sunrise - close enough to the water to hear the fish splashing and watch the boats pass by.

BRAND NEW AC/HEATING UNITS (July 2022)-A central heat/air system keeps the cottage cold in the summer and warm in the winter. Three separate climate control units - one in each of the bedrooms and one in the main living area - guarantee everyone sleeps comfortable. Enjoy the colder months by cozying up to the wood burning fireplace! In addition to a fireplace and all the other comforts of home, the living area features a flat-screen television with a blu-ray DVD player, board games and opens to a bright sunroom with tons of windows. Lightening fast Wifi is available free of charge.

And because good food is a part of any great vacation, The Lakeside Cottage is furnished with a charcoal grill for outdoor barbecues. The kitchen is equipped with a full-size refrigerator; range; dishwasher; microwave; coffee maker (as well as coffee, sugar and creamer); toaster; pots; pans; dishes; flatware; dining ware; essential spices; towels - everything you need to prepare a home-cooked meal away from home. Enjoy breakfast or lunch on the water at the Gigglefish Diner only minutes away in Cypress Cove Marina, or make the 12-mile drive into Muskogee to the south or Wagoner to the north for countless dining options. Gather around the fire pit to roast hot dogs or marshmallows (and storytelling!).

Fresh linens/towels for bedrooms and the bathroom are provided, and a new washer and dryer is here for your use.

Five public boat launch ramps are within two miles for easy access to the water. Cypress Cove Marina is a full-service marina located only two miles away and includes a roped off swimming area. For overnight boat storage, Cypress Cove Marina offers affordable boat slips. Contact them for daily rates and availability.

The Lakeside Cottage is furnished with a total of three twin beds and two full beds, including a twin daybed and twin trundle in the sunroom (which combines to make a king size bed), a twin/full bunk bed in the Bunk Room and a full bed in the Captain’s Quarters.

Sequoyah State Park is located across the lake and offers golf, horseback riding, miles of bike trails and Three Forks Nature Center. Make the short drive into Muskogee for shopping, dining, parks and the Five Civilized Tribes Museum. Take a day trip to historic Tahlequah, only 45 minutes away and located at the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, to experience a float trip down the Illinois River. Be sure to check out Seminary Hall on the campus of Northeastern State University - an historical treasure worth visiting!

Come and enjoy all the lake has to offer and be at peace with the sites and sounds of nature.

Suitability: children are welcome (though young children will need close supervision because of the rocky terrain), non-smoking only, small pets negotiable, not wheelchair accessible. The private road has a couple of steep hills that may be difficult for vehicles pulling a boat trailer. Please let us know if you will be bringing a boat as we will try to help you find space at the marina.

Horrible host
The day of check in 5 hours before we arrived— the host cancelled our reservation due to unable to clean the location. Traveling 4.5 hours it left us to scramble to find a place to stay. Turns out locals said her road was never inaccessible and she removed this listing. Thankfully we got fully refunded. Only honest thing from this host.

Peaceful Retreat, Beautiful Lakeside View
‘Walter’s Lakeside’ retreat was wonderful. Literally everything you can think of that you would need is provided. Definitely a classy approach, well-beyond what is required. Greatly appreciated! One Note: the roads are rough getting in. 4WD vehicles are best suited to traveling to the property.

Lovely
Our stay was perfect! I just didn’t like the private road that lead to the house. We were in a 12 passenger van and it was a little scary at parts. Other than that, it was wonderful! A disclaimer about the rough terrain would be good to add. :)
