About Amanda Hall
My parents moved to this property 35 years ago. We used to live in London having the train in the village is a great bonus. I am a specialist painter and have a workshop show room five minutes away at Bentwaters Business Park, which is very convenient for traveling to and fro.
Amanda Hall purchased this Barn in 1980
Why Amanda Hall chose Woodbridge
Church Farm House is a very beautiful thatched cottage located in this quiet village of Campsea Ash. The garden backs on to the beautiful church yard. This property is also very central for commuting to Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Orford, Southwold,Walberswick and Snape.
What makes this Barn unique
We live in the main part of this house which is a very pretty 16th century thatched cottage. We have a beautiful garden which our guests staying in the Barn can stroll around. I will sometimes be in the garden gardening and mowing he lawns. There is a fenced in bit of the garden for the guests so they can be more private, which has a gravel terrace and a lawn.

Wonderful break in a lovely cottage
Amanda the host was really welcoming, friendly and helpful and the cottage was absolutely perfect. Cosy, comfortable, clean and with quality furnishings.
Very well situated for local attractions such as Woodbridge with its Tide Mill which is well worth a visit, Sutton Hoo, Orford and Orford Ness, and a little further away Southwold.
We can also recommend the local pub The Duck, for food.
All in all a superb property for a short or long break!
lovely stay in Campsea Ashe at Amanda's
Character cottage, beautifully laid out w great garden. Lots to do within very easy reach.
You won’t be disappointed if you book this cottage. We only wished we could have stayed longer. Fabulous decor and plenty of personal touches. Lovely hostess
We have just come back from a wonderful bank holiday weekend in Suffolk. The cottage is beautiful and so comfortable, our daughters are already asking when we can return. Amanda gave us some fabulous recommendations for places to visit.
Charming indeed :-)
Lovely, cosy cottage, very well equipped, friendly and welcoming host. Beautiful setting and great location.
Amanda Hall is an amazing hostess. I didn't have a car, so she drove me to several of the nearby locations that I needed to get to. The accommodations were beautifully furnished and spacious. It was a treat having a washer and dryer for laundry. I thoroughly enjoyed staying in this quiet, Suffolk cottage. It is also just a 6 minute walk to the train station and the medieval church is next door!
We are very close to Aldeburgh, which has great shop, pubs and resturants, a wonderful beach and even better Fish and Chips. Orford is also about a 10 min drive where there are great pubs, wonderful walks, Orford Castle, Pump Street Bakery, Pinnys smoke house and a wonderful motor cruise you can hire for meals or have a trip down the Alde on! Southwold is about half an hour away, where again wonderful pubs and resturants, where the famous Adnams beer comes from and great Crabbing. Wonderful beaches and a fantastic pier.We are ten minutes from the famous Snape Maltings where they have Snape Maltings concert hall also they have a wonderful pub, lots of shops and a resturant. About fort five minutes up the road is a wildlife park called the Africa Live. There is a wonderful Farm Park in the next village called Easton Farm Park , great for children up to about nine years old. Woodbridge is ten minutes by car, or train (from our village) which has great shops, resturants, a lovely park, a cinema . We are forty five minutes from Colchester, an hour from Cambridge by car, an hour to London by train (two and half hours by car)
