Beautiful waterfront pool home on the St. Lucie River two miles from Downtown Stuart. Enjoy sunset views over the nature preserve and watch boats ply their way up and down the river. The vacant land across the river is a long peninsula owned and protected by the Nature Conservancy so when you look out, all you see is nature. You'll see Ibis, Herons, Egrets, Roseate Spoonbills, Pelicans, Osprey and many other birds. Porpoises swim by almost daily and Manatees are frequent visitors too. Great Snook fishing can be had right off of our dock!
Our home has been extensively renovated since we purchased it in 2017. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances including a convection oven and an induction cook top, and it's stocked with plenty of cooking supplies. The primary bedroom has a king bed and a view of the river. One guest bedroom has a queen bed and one has two twins. All have comfortable memory foam mattresses and nice linens. All bedrooms have ceiling fans. The guest bathroom and the primary bathroom have been upgraded with natural stone flooring and the primary bathroom features a beautiful freestanding tub as well as a shower. Almost all lighting is energy efficient LED with dimmers.
The living room includes a comfortable leather couch and a wood burning fireplace. It also features a 65" 4k TV and a Sonos sound system with several speakers and a subwoofer. It's a smart TV and you can access your Netflix and other streaming services. There is a small dining table in the kitchen and also a dining table on the screen porch that gets much more use! The screen porch has comfortable furniture and two ceiling fans. Outside we have planted lime, lemon, tangerine and other tropical trees and palms, as well as a container garden with fresh herbs available for your use. In the summer of 2021, we added five more palm trees, including two coconut palms in the back yard. We also built a small patio next to the screen porch where we now have a pellet grill.
We built a wonderful dock over the river in 2020 and it's a great place to watch the boats pass by or to see birds fly by as they head to their roosts across the river. We keep our boat on our lift, but if you wish to bring your own boat, we will consider storing ours in a nearby marina for an additional fee (the fee will be whatever our storage cost is at the marina, currently just over $500/month). Please note that our section of the river is not in a no-wake zone, so tying up your boat along our seawall is not recommended. Great boating and fishing abounds, with the north and south forks of the St. Lucie River and the Indian River to explore. And the ocean is less than 25 minutes away via the St. Lucie inlet. We have one kayak and one hybrid kayak/SUP board available for your use.
A few things to note: the garage will be locked off but there are two parking spaces available in the driveway and room for two more cars on the street. Our house is pet-friendly but the pool is not fenced and neither is the waterfront (the back yard is fenced, just not the waterfront). Children and pets should not be left unattended in the back yard at any time.
This is our primary residence and we are offering it to responsible guests to enjoy when we cannot be there. We expect that guests will treat it with the respect that they would show their own homes. We restrict groups to six people to reduce wear and tear and as a courtesy to our neighbors. Ours is a quiet residential neighborhood. No parties or events are allowed.
