About Janie or Mike Hinkle
Dancing Wolves is owned by Mike and Janie Hinkle. We bought the home because of its unique rustic atmosphere and loved the seclusion of the Smokey Falls community. It's quiet, but not too far from everything that's fun and worth doing in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
Janie or Mike Hinkle purchased this Cabin in 2007
Why Janie or Mike Hinkle chose Maggie Valley
Dancing Wolves is fairly new, as cabins go, and has modern appliances, fixtures, and we had little to do to make it a welcoming destination for vacationers. The large porches were a plus and being outside in the summer here never gets old!
What makes this Cabin unique
The wildlife at Dancing Wolves is truly special. Elk can be seen roaming the paths between homes and you might even see an occasional mama bear with a cub at certain times of the year. The elevation of nearly 4400' makes Dancing Wolves much cooler year round than homes in most sections of Maggie Valley, and we were particularly excited about that. Bring a sweater, even in summer!

The property was secluded and nice. Our dogs had a good time walking the roads. There was lots to do in maggie valley and the drive to Gatlinburg was about an hour. Thr drive was through the national park which made it even more awesome. We say a black bear some Elk and an all white turkey or albino turkey. Wish we got a picture of that one.
Mother’s Day weekend
Great spot to enjoy the mountain weather! My son loved the playground down the street!
Thank you Ryan! I agree the playground is a nice feature and very little traffic on our quiet road to get there. Please come back and thank you again for choosing Dancing Wolves!

The best ever!
We had a glorious time in the mountains and Dancing Wolves Lodge provided the perfect home! The location is awesome, secluded with outstanding views and so many trails to hike! It’s so convenient to town and points of interest; Smokies, Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherokee, Waynesville, Asheville, Nantahala, etc. The owner is so receptive and pleasant to deal with and the cabin has EVERYTHING you need! We can’t wait to return next year!
