Charming 1 bed Apartment in the heart of Beer and just a stroll from the beach
About Sue Wesley
My husband and I live in a pretty village in Warwickshire, near Stratford-upon-Avon and we really enjoy escaping to our Apartment in beautiful Beer as often as we can - we just love its peace and tranquility. Perfect for recharging the batteries!
Sue Wesley purchased this Apartment in 2008
Why Sue Wesley chose Seaton
We discovered this great Apartment whilst on holiday one year and set about transforming it to a comfortable and relaxing home environment. Since buying the property we come back and visit as often as possible - mainly out of season in Spring and Autumn when we enjoy long walks to Branscombe and taking in the fresh sea air. We want our guests to feel welcome and at ease so hope the furnishings make it all the more comfortable
What makes this Apartment unique
Beer village is the perfect base to explore the local East Devon region, yet it offers all the amenities you could want on the doorstep. The locals are friendly and welcoming and the Apartment is light, fresh and airy. We think it has all the extra touches that will make your stay so relaxing and enjoyable

Durham House Flat
A lovely flat in a beautiful place.
Well equipped flat.
Wonderful stay. Beer is beautiful and everything compact and close by. The apartment was well equipped, warm and in a perfect location close to the beach, wonderful walks and fantastic restaurant (Steamers). Would stay again for sure!
Thank you for your lovely review Jean, it means a lot to me that guests enjoy their stay and returning guests are always most welcome - and will be discounted too! Sue
Excellent accommodation in beautiful Beer, it’s the 2nd time we have stayed at Durham House in 2019!
Everything we want in our Accommodation. It’s clean, warm, with a very helpful host in a great location, we will be back again next year 👍
Ah thank you for your lovely review and you are most welcome back at any time, Sue
A lovely place to unwind
It’s a great property in all areas and in a great location. The only thing that spoilt our experience was the guy who has the apartment underneath playing his music/TV so loud you could not hear the Television.
Thank you for your lovely review and I'm sorry you were disturbed by our neighbour. I appreciate your letting me know so I can hopefully resolve. I have mentioned it to him to make him aware
Thank you again
Lovely place for a short stay
Very clean, comfortable and well appointed apartment. We'll definitely book again if we come back to this area. Village is welcoming, especially with a dog. All the pubs let you in for meals with the dog, bonus if it's raining. Great to find somewhere that doesn't charge over the odds for a pet. Lots of info given by Sue before booking which was really useful for a short break. We had a lovely weekend. Thank you Sue and Mandy
Thank you for your lovely comments Gisele and I am so pleased you enjoyed both your stay at Durham House Apartment and the fabulous little village of Beer!
You are most welcome back at any time
Beer fishing village is the perfect base to explore the East Devon Jurassic Coast. You'll find an unspoilt and traditional seaside environment devoid of 'Kiss me Quick' hats, but full of friendly people, fabulous pubs and restaurants. It also boasts two stylish art galleries, tea shops and quaint seaside cottages with thatched roofs
There is an excellent coastal bus service which you can pick up just opposite the Apartment . This takes the coastal route to the historic cathedral City of Exeter in one direction and delightful Lyme Regis in Dorset, in the other. The glorious Cobb Harbour there is worth a visit and has had a starring role in such films as Persuasion and The French Lieutentnat's Woman
For local services, shopping and sightseeing, both Seaton town and Victorian Sidmouth are just a 10 min drive away with excellent supermarkets and local shops
Beer also boasts the fantastic Quarry Caves and Pecorama, a model railway treasure trove, with beautiful gardens and model railways for children and adults alike
Bicton Garden is a delightful botanical garden about a 15 minute drive away, close to the pretty neighbouring village of Budleigh Salterton
