About Edward Blanchard
My family and I built this cabin in 1989 to have a place to spend time together in all seasons. It has been a wonderful place to have Thanksgiving, 4th of July celebrations, foliage and other times.
Edward Blanchard purchased this Cabin in 1989
Why Edward Blanchard chose Eden
We grew up in Vermont but left the state many years ago. This allowed us to have a place in Vermont again.
What makes this Cabin unique
It is so private and we always liked being off the grid, even more important in todays world.

Beautiful and Peaceful
This was one of the best vacation I've ever had and was in desperate need of. We already miss the quietness, the beauty, and the wonderful solitude and peace. It's our dream way to live so we will definitely be back!
Lake is different to get to
We enjoyed our stay at Eden even though it was cut short by a death in our family. The trees were beginning to change and in only five days we saw beautiful Fall colors. Ed was a responsive and helpful landlord. The cabin was rustic but cozy and the views were beautiful.
This is a wonderful property! A peaceful getaway tucked in the beautiful vermont woods. Off grid and stunning! We learned quickly how to use the propane lights and we thought we would have a hard time figuring out things to keep us occupied at night without tv or internet, oh how wrong we were. We star gazed, listened to music, listened to the loons on the pond, and just talked on the couch by candle light. We skinny dipped for the first time, canoed around the pond, and checked out local sights. We can’t wait to come back!
Thank you! So many come here and actually love being off the grid. So glad you had a good time and you left the cabin amazingly clean. Thank you.
Another pefect week away from it all at Ed's camp in Eden, VT
This was my second summer spending a week away from it all in Eden, VT, on this lovely lake. The cabin is set up on a small hill looking down over the lake. So lovely views anywhere you look. There is a dock with canoe and lots of things to float on. The lake is almost private with just a few neighbors who are mostly not there. So you feel like you are deep in the woods on your own with only the beavers and the loons! Nothing like the call of the loon at dusk. And the stars! You can see the stars and even the Milky Way! No electricity but that is what we wanted to "unplug" – but still all the conveniences of home with a propane run fridge with freezer that works well, gas stove and lamps throughout the cabin. Running water hot and cold. Bathroom with shower. Everything you need. Great place for kids (they can have their own loft). You can also sleep on the porch overlooking the lake which is a real treat. Ed is always reachable by text and was very helpful with every step. Eden General Store has everything you will need. Lovely places to hike nearby. Highly recommended!
I am so glad you have found Eden to be such a respite from our usually busy world and lives. It is what makes it so special for me too.
Peaceful cabin on the pond
A great place to read, think, reflect, and be surrounded by the nature of the pond.
Close to lots of great hiking.
Beautiful area in the Vt foothills, near many boating opportunities, the Long trail, Jay Peak etc. 35 minutes from Stowe with numerous shopping and dinner opportunities. Restful quiet get away at the camp. watch sunsets over the pond enjoy rain on the tin roof!
