About this property

Dog Friendly Lake Chickamauga Bungalow with Private Boat Dock

This beautiful 2 bedroom/1 bath bungalow was smartly remodeled in 2020 and is ready to welcome you with great views! A large private boat dock is ready for your boat seasonally, and adjoining sun deck area with bed swing offers relaxing space at the end of the day with access to Lake Chickamauga! Work or go to school remotely? You're in luck with high speed fiber optic internet at this home! Located in a quiet neighborhood between two boat launches (approx. 1 mile each direction) the home is welcoming, stylishly comfortable and surprisingly spacious. Sitting well to the back of the property on over a 1/2 acre the home feels private, situated among mature trees. Want to bring your friendly family dog along? We welcome the family dog who is house trained, not allowed on furniture and not left alone inside the house unsecured. Walking in the front door, the entry opens to large great room area overlooking Lake Chickamauga/TN river with a wall of windows to enjoy the wonderful water and mountain views. In fact, every room in the house provides a view of the water! You'll also enjoy a 10 x 16 deck with dining table for 6 off the back of the Great Room to enjoy the scenery with a glass of wine or that morning cup of Joe.

Two cozy bedrooms have queen sized beds for a good night’s sleep, and generous closet space for all your necessities. 2 twin sized pop up beds are also available, if needed. Full bathroom has a tub/shower combo. Lots of comfortable seating in the expansive great room with a 65" Smart TV with DirecTV and high speed internet, along with a 43” TV in one bedroom. Seating for 6 at the dining table, or enjoy a meal on the back deck overlooking the dock, water and an awesome mountain view. A fireplace with wood burning insert and plenty of firewood means cool weather trips are cozy and inviting.

A short walk down the concrete path takes you to the new private covered boat dock with electricity and lighting, and shoreline seating complete with a new firepit area for enjoyable evenings. Or enjoy a quiet cup of coffee on the bench swing before the day’s activities begin. 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards and life jackets are available for complementary use during your stay. Fully equipped kitchen provides everything you'll need for preparing meals while here (and yes, we do mean fully equipped!). The gas grill (propane provided) is ready for your favorite steak! Plenty of parking for vehicles and boat trailers in the U-shapeded driveway means easy in/out with boat trailers.

The home is a 10 minute drive to the small town of Decatur with several fast food locations, 3 family restaurants, a Mexican/Italian restaurant and a grocery store. 2 local boat launches, one mile upriver and downriver, mean you can arrive by boat mid April to early October. Average water level April to Oct is approximately 2 ft at the shoreline to 5 1/2 ft at the end of the dock providing plenty of boat docking access. While lake levels drop Oct to April affecting use of the dock, the boat launches and lake use are available year around. Download TVA’s app for information on lake levels and other helpful information.

This rural location is conveniently located to Dayton (fishing tournaments) Athens, Cleveland, Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Gatlinburg.

Seasonal
Was probably the cleanest place we've ever stayed at, which was a huge plus. Our pet was openly welcomed which was great! House and beds were comfortable. The only negative thing I could say,is, if you want to fiish in November, check lake levels 1st.

Like home away from home
We stayed here last year during our daughters volleyball tournament and the place was absolutely beautiful, clean and felt like being at home. The owners were super friendly and accommodating. We loved it so much that it was not even up for discussion where we were staying this year. Once again every thing was perfect. If you want a beautiful lake front place, in a quiet neighborhood with everything you could want at your finger tips then this is your place.

After retiring from a lifelong construction business, we felt like we still wanted to dig into some great remodeling projects. So, we looked for someplace we could really put some sweat equity into and let our creativity fly! We enjoy time at the lake boating, swimming, kayaking, hanging out with friends and family and our German Shepherd dogs, and a great glass of wine while watching the sunsets!

Why they chose this property

This is a beautiful piece of land with wonderful lake access. We love the trees and yard out front, but the area near the water's edge is amazing year round. It feels remote, but not too far out.

What makes this property unique

It's close to Dayton, Athens, Cleveland 20 - 30 minutes, plus within an hour we can be in Chattanooga or Knoxville. Tons of hiking, shopping, restaurants, historical sites, etc. We love the relaxed feel of life by the water!
