About this property

Modern Alberta Arts Studio with King Bed in Prime Location

Modern studio with private entrance, perfect for couples and business travelers. Plush king-size bed, sitting area, kitchenette, and modern bathroom with essentials. Home gym available to our guests for an additional fee.

Walkable neighborhood with awesome restaurants around the corner and the best of Alberta Street steps away. We're located just 15 minutes from the airport, and close to downtown.

On parle français... Y también hablamos español.

THE SPACE
The kitchenette includes a fridge, a microwave, bowls, dishes, glasses, silverware, and a Keurig coffeemaker (which also provides hot water for tea).

The TV has Netflix and local channels, and we also have a rotating collection of books, games, and magazines when you don't feel like going out. Guests also have use of a small patio right outside your door where you can gaze at our hops vines while drinking a local brew.

We live upstairs with a non-shedding doggo, and are always mindful of noise when we have guests. However, ours is a classic Portland home built in 1910, so you may occasionally hear light footsteps or muffled voices above. We are generally quiet folks who go to bed early (read: we're boring!).

CHECK-IN
Check-in is flexible anytime after 3 pm, and we're sometimes able to accommodate earlier check-ins if there's no one staying the night before, so feel free to ask if you're getting to Portland early! Checkout is at 11 am.

EXTRA GUEST
In addition to the king bed, we have a memory foam twin rollaway bed available which we'll set up if there are three guests (a third-guest fee will be added to your booking). We usually take out the desk to put in the extra bed, but we're happy to leave it if you have a need for it; just let us know. If you have an infant, we have a Graco Pack 'n Play available, but the space is not infant-proofed.

GYM
Want to enjoy all of Portland's amazing restaurants without worrying about your waistline? We have a fully equipped home gym with dumbbells (5lbs to 65 lbs), power rack and barbells, bumper plates (365 lbs. total), Rogue Echo Bike, and more. The 200-square-foot space is available to guests for $15/hour, and is large enough for two folks to work out together. Let us know if you’re interested in scheduling some workout time during your stay.

THE CITY
We're only a short drive away from beautiful hikes and some of Oregon's main attractions, making our studio your perfect home base for day trips out of Portland. Scroll through our photos to see the drive times to some of the most popular spots.

We're always happy to give recommendations about what to do and where to eat in the neighborhood. When you book with us we'll send you our own curated online map pointing out the best of the neighborhood.

Great Location
Perfect place to stay! Great location with lots of places to eat and shopping close by. Parking always available. Host could not have been easier to deal with and so helpful with recommendations on places to eat. Spotless unit. Very private.

Visiting my son in Portlandia
The location was within 15-20 +/- minutes of the airport, parks, dining, adventures, and my son! Easy access to the highway and Seattle to also visit my brother. It was quiet, comfortable, and just as I expected. A few short steps down to door, street parking, safe, and perfect for me!!

Just right!
I enjoyed my long weekend in Portland visiting my daughter. The place was cute, just as described and pictured, and it was clean as a whistle. It was exactly what I needed. The area was very quiet at night, which I appreciated. The host communicated readily and I encountered nothing unexpected. Easy peasy.

Portland Getaway
The apartment was a perfect fit for our Portland Getaway. This bright basement apartment had everything we needed for a short stay. Plenty of space, all the necessities, cheery and cozy. We made coffee in the morning and sat out side. The room and neighborhood are quiet. Excellent location- we walked everywhere. On the corner is a really good BBQ joint and down the block at No Saint were the most delicious pastries. Just 3 blocks away is Alberta Street with lots of restaurants and watering holes. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back!

About the host

Hosted by David Khalaf

Host profile image
David is from Los Angeles and Constantino is from New York, but we moved to Portland, Oregon, years ago to enjoy this unique and vibrant city. We've stayed at great Airbnbs across the world, and have met wonderful hosts who inspired us to become hosts ourselves. Hablamos español, et on parle français aussi!

Why they chose this property

We're on a quiet street in one of Portland's hottest, most walkable neighborhoods. As Travel Portland puts it, "Independent and diverse, this Northeast Portland neighborhood teems with art, shopping and dining options."

In keeping with the neighborhood’s diversity, the dining options offer food for every taste (vegan to carnivore), craving (foie gras to fried chicken) and budget (PBR to Dom Pérignon).

Peppered with locally owned shops, cafés, bars and galleries, Alberta street (a short walk from our home) is famed for its monthly Last Thursday street fair, but offers entertaining options any day of the month.

When you check in we'll send you a link to a map we created with our favorite haunts in the neighborhood and beyond.

What makes this property unique

This is a safe, and as we mentioned above, very walkable neighborhood.

There's a Biketown rack right on our corner (these are bikes you can rent by the day, or pay per trip and park them at various racks throughout the city). There are also a number of e-scooter rental companies that operate in the city.

The No. 8 bus, two blocks from our home, will take you downtown in 25 minutes.

By car, we're 15 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from downtown, so an Uber or Lyft ride is reasonable.

If you like the sharing economy, look into an app called GetAround for your day trips out of the city. The short-term car rental app Free2Move also operates in our area.
