The DAGWOOD on the Shores of Western Lake Erie. THE PERFECT place to bring the family for a weekend, a week, or 3 months, to enjoy all the BEST of what our beachfront home has to offer. We have 4 bedrooms (sleeps 8+), 1.5 baths, washer/dryer and all the water toys to include paddleboards, rafts, kayaks, aluminum fishing boat, ski's, knee board, fishing poles, Golf cart (extra). Large kitchen, family room. Remodeled and updated home!!

Great Family Get Away

We enjoyed a wonderful family vacation at the Dagwood. The lake house was perfect for our 5 adults and two children (5 yo and 3 yo). It has plenty of room and all the accommodations of home. The deck is outstanding and ideal for hanging out, family time and watching all the fun in the water. The beach and swimming area are perfect for playing in the water even for the young ones. There are plenty of water toys as well as games for nighttime fun. Mick and Julie were extremely nice and responsive the few times we needed to contact them. We had a great time and would recommend this VRBO to anyone looking for a great family vacation on the lake.

Perfect private family lake house

The location was perfect for my family and I (5 adults and 5 kids). Back deck is literally steps from the water and it feels like your own private slice of paradise! Water was clear and calm with lots of beautiful sea glass to collect on the sand. The kids loved the lilypad, kayak, and paddle boards provided by owners. Owners were very responsive, especially during very unusual 29-hour power-outage resulting from a freak windstorm and were able to set up a generator so we didn’t lose our weeks worth of food in the fridge. Very friendly and wonderful hosts. Even though we had a few rough weather patches, we were able to be out on the lake at least once a day. There were also many indoor toys that the kids enjoyed during rainy moments. Hosts left a cute welcome basket for the kids upon checkin which was much appreciated. We did have issues with biting flies while outdoors on the deck so we decided to eat most of our meals indoors. But there was ample room for our large family to eat inside as the combined kitchen/dining area was very spacious. Overall, we would love to go back!

Great Family Vacation Spot

Plenty of space for our group of 9. Lots of toys, water gear, activites, games etc. House was stocked with bathroom and kitchen items. Checking in and out was a cinch.

Perfection

I almost hate to leave a review because I don't really want to share this secret gem! But this property was perfect in just about every way. It has everything you could possibly need. There's nothing you won't find in the kitchen for cooking, baking, grilling. Countless games and beach/water toys for all ages. Comfy beds, plenty of linens, and more than enough space. The owners had excellent communication and were a pleasure to deal with. It's very clear they take pride in their rental and go above and beyond to make it enjoyable for their guests. We packed all of our food, and only had to leave the house once (for milk) which was ideal, because we had no desire to leave for any reason. The deck space is heavenly. Beautiful sunrises. We will absolutely be back!

We have owned this beautiful family lakehome since 1993. We only recently, 2020, decided to make it available to others who want to enjoy the lake, beach and make family memories of their own. The property has been updated with a new kitchen and loft...as well as 1/2 bath. The deck is new and is built right to the beach with top notch outdoor living space so you can spend your vacation time outdoors. Our home is a beautiful gathering spot with memories at every turn. On the shore of Lake Erie, our home offers a BEAUTIFUL SANDY BEACH, clear, shallow water with multiple sand bars. World class walleye and perch fishing, a large deck and yard overlooking lake, close to boat ramps, and lakefront views from all rooms. The Dagwood has year round availability! Looking for short or long term rental for a work project? We have ALL the comforts that hotels cannot compete with! Close to state park.

Optional golf cart rental; free bikes and lots of water toys, kayaks, Lilly pad, lifejackets, basketball, fishing poles, complete kitchen, house linens and bathroom toiletries provided. Plenty of parking for 6 vehicles. Horseshoes on the beach! The "POINT" pub and Grub restaurant a close walk, or 2 minute golf cart ride if you don't want to grille/cook. Large park across the canal. Canal fishing, Fire pit.

The house is on a peninsula with the front facing like Erie (20 yards to water) and beach and the back facing a canal. Garage, basement and side yard. Glorious deck to accommodate friends, family and coworkers. Plenty of parking for 6 vehicles. The "POINT" pub and Grub restaurant a close walk, or 2 minute golf cart ride if you don't want to grille/cook. Large park across the canal. Canal fishing, Fire pit.

What makes this property unique

We are uniquely situated on Stony Point where we enjoy the most/largest sandy beach. Directly in front of the cottage are mutliple sand bars, clear water, and able to walk out 100 yards from the seawall. The beach provides another area to enjoy the water. We have beach games, paddle boards, paddleboat, kayaks, Lillypad, blow up floats, as well as snorkeling gear. The beach is awash with seaglass
