Charles Anthony was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He has a bachelor s degree in political science from the University of Florida and holds a master s degree in secondary education from Grand Canyon University and a masters degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University. He has also received a doctorate in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University. He is presently serving as a clinical assistant professor for the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University.
Professor Anthony has served as a principal for an online middle school, blended learning center, and assistant high school principal. He has taught social studies at Arizona College Prep in the Chandler Unified School District, holding a multitude of leadership responsibilities and has served as a professor at both Northern Arizona University and South Mountain Community College. He was previously employed with Wells Fargo Bank for 13 years and held executive positions, most recently as vice president for the Auto Division and also helped create and develop the Emerging Markets Group for the company. He left Wells Fargo to pursue a career in education and fulfill his goal of helping others find the very best in themselves.
Additionally, Professor Anthony served in the United States Army for more than 23 years as a Cavalry Scout, Communications Officer, and Military Intelligence Officer. He is a combat veteran and has served in Iraq, Kuwait, Korea, Egypt, and many others areas across the globe. He also published his first novel in 2019, which chronicles his families escape from Cuba after the Fidel Castro Revolution.
