Lovely detached bungalow with large garden, parking, patio, mountain views.
I was born in Windermere but moved away when I was quite small. Most of my family still lived there and I returned in 1996. When I viewed Claverley, it took me about 5 minutes to decide to buy it, it is that kind of property. Regrettably I have had to move away again for employment, but I hope you will love the house as much as me.

What makes this Bungalow unique
Claverley occupies a quiet location but is central to Windermere and Bowness. A car is not essential to enjoy the many benefits found in each of these villages. The patio and rear garden are south facing and are private. Being a bungalow every room is on the same level, after entering there are no steps or stairs. There is plenty of off street parking on the drive.

Perfect location but be limited accessibility even though a bungalow
This bungalow / cottage is in the perfect location being only a 5-10 minute walk from both Windermere and Bowness. Beautiful mature garden and a nice outside area with a table and chairs. However, even though its on the same level, the house is very difficult to get into if you have limited mobility. There is a very steep drive and a few steep steps into the property. Once inside the property was lovely, perhaps in need of a decor update, but it had everything we needed for our stay. Slight foisty smell in the double bedroom with fitted wardrobes but got used to it. Would recommend a stay at this property.
Lovely place to stay and great location for both Bowness and Windermere. Clean and spacious and the garden is beautiful.
A great week
We were a family of 5 (youngest 15yo) and found this property an ideal base for a great week. It's roughly half-way between Bowness and Windermere, about a ten minute walk from both. The property was clean, comfortable and spacious, with a garden that is well-kept and an abundance of colour. Next time we are visiting the Lakes, we would certainly be happy to return.
The Lake District is the most popular and largest National Park in England and in July 2017 became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are breathtaking lakes and rivers, soaring mountains and picturesque valleys. Windermere and Bowness on Windermere are bustling towns with cafes, pubs and restaurants, gift shops, bookshops, visitor's information centres, cycle hire, outdoor equipment shops and a cinema in all the heart of the Park.
Windermere town has a railway station with a direct service to Manchester Airport and the west coast mainline, supermarkets and the flagship store of Lakeland Ltd and is the base for Mountain Goat Tours, Lakes Supertours Lake District Tours and Kankku off-road driving. Three miles away is the Park Authority's Brockhole Visitors Centre with air park (treetop trek), bicycle and boat hire, pony riding, trails and orienteering.
Ambleside and Waterhead are at the northern end of the lake and are much like Bowness. Lakeside, Newby Bridge and Haverthwaite are at the southern end; they can be visited by road, bus or lake steamer. Lakeside has a preserved steam railway, and is within easy reach of Lakeland Motor Museum.
Thirteen miles away is the Forestry Commission’s Grizedale Forest with a cafe, air park (GoApe), numerous walking and mountain bike trails plus sculptures by leading international artists amongst the trees.
