Left on 07/18/2013 for a stay in July 2013

My wife and I recently stayed here during a business trip to Hendersonville. It is roughly 10 minutes from everything you need during your trip and about 25 minutes from asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin was amazing. It has a very relaxing feel to it and also has every single convenience you need while there.

The hot tub is on its own personal balcony that is quite secluded and is nice for drinking wine and relaxing. There is also a grill for those who would like to use it. Though the cabin has a rustic feel, it has a happy medium with the feel of a modern, new hotel. Everything that could be provided, was. All utensils, food wares, and even condiments in the fridge. There is a computer, though we did not use it since we had our laptop and tablet.

All in all, I would suggest this spot to anyone who is looking to have a nice relaxing stay in Hendersonville. The cost was right on par, and while I normally do not like having to pay such lofty deposits, in this case, it was completely worth it.

A big thank you to the Singers for their amazing commitment to making their cabins a memorable and amazing experience!

Wonderful trip

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time. We went about 10 minutes down the road to Chimney Rock and hiked one day. The next day we went to Biltmore and then down the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin was wonderful. We sat in the hot tub under the stars. It was incredible!!! The cabin has all the comforts of home with none of the headaches. I would recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a quiet getaway. We are considering making the cabin a yearly getaway. The cabin was clean and all linens were provided. The pictures do not do the cabin justice, you have to see it to really take it all in. Hope this is helpful for anyone looking to relax.

The property was clean and had everything that we could have asked for.

  • 5 of 5

From the moment that we registered, everything went smoothly. The house was clean, organized and included everything one would need for the week. We really didn't need to bring much with us. The house had a washer and dryer, dishwasher and important to us, it was air conditioned. Turns out there was even laundry detergent. The owner replied quickly when I needed a question answered. The house was easy to find and the owner sent out an email with all kinds of useful information. The owner also allowed us to have our dog with us. She liked it too.

The location at times felt like it was out of the way in that it was usually 8-10 miles to get to what we wanted to do in either direction from the cabin. Then again, it was secluded and quiet and that was nice.

This is not meant to take anything away from the cabin but what I had hoped to do during the week was ride my bike. This was not a safe thing to do on Chimney Rock Rd. I tried one day and felt like I was taking my life in my hands. The roads are very narrow without shoulders and were windy with blind corners. It would be excellent without cars. We did a search for places to bike but most were too far away and didn't provide an opportunity to ride very far.

Very nice

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Rooster Ridge. It was a great home base for exploring the area. The house was spotless and well appointed. I would highly recommend it with one caveat. It was more like a house than a cabin. The front of the house was not very far from the street (which was off a busier street and we could hear traffic). We sat on the porch and our view was the street and the house (a suburban ranch) across the street. We weren't expecting a spectacular view but we were surprised that the house's setting was more suburban than 'mountain' or woods. If your looking for a cabin in the woods (we were), it doesn't fit that bill at all. Our home where we live has a more wooded feeling than this and it was a disappointment. As I said, the house was lovely, clean, well appointed and served as a wonderful home base but not really a cabin experience. I took one star off because of that.

Great cabin and location

  • 5 of 5

Our family really enjoyed Roosters Ridge. It has everything you need for a great stay. The location for us was perfect. It is so close to Chimney Rock and lake lure. Just minutes from DuPont Forest and Pisgah Natl Forest. There is not much room for kids to run around and play outside but the front porch is a great size to all sit and enjoy the great outdoors. We would definitely stay here again.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had a very enjoyable experience. It was centrally located to every place that we visited. The cabin was very nice and felt like home away from home. The is a perfect place for a small family and entertaining with friends.

Cabin is great

  • 4 of 5

Cabin is very comfortable and clean. Photos of interior are very accurate however I was conserved with the steep road up and the narrow drive way. We have vans and it was scary to maneuver. I the photos it doesn't show the drop down the hill on the back side of the drive and the steepness of the road. We managed but with an accurate description of this we would have been better prepared and used different vehicles.

Otherwise it was awesome and I hope to return.

Owner's Response: The second picture I have listed shows the driveway and drop-off. The paved road up to the cabin (less than a quarter mile) is not considered steep for the Western Carolina mountains.
