About Pip macfarlane
I am a retired teacher of ceramics, art and design. A working silversmith for many years, and a qualified medical herbalist. I have travelled a lot, and each summer go away in my motorhome with friends. I like sharing my home with other travellers during the summer months whilst I am away.
Pip macfarlane purchased this House in 2010
Why Pip macfarlane chose Penzance
As soon as I saw the views from this house, I wanted to live here. I had been living abroad for some years, and returned to Penzance, as many of us do, it's a great place to live. i used to camp at zennor in cornwall many years ago, and explore the many ancient stone circles and monuments in this area, its so full of history and celtic folklore.
What makes this House unique
The position of this house with the panoramic ocean view from the front, and the ancient hill fort a few yards behind the back garden, what better reason to live here. Also the quiet no through rd. the nearby restaurants, cafes and coastal walks.

Lovely comfy cottage/bungalow with great view
Stayed here for a week and really enjoyed. We found it easy to find and a good base for area. Comfy/homely feel and well equipped Inc washing machine and full oven/hob/iron and board. Off street parking. Cottage is up a hill but this means the view is beautiful and we didn't struggle to park down in the town. Small courtyard garden with steps leading down from parking area which is private . Nice wet room and comfy lounge.
Thankyou Leigh Ann, I do hope you come and stay again some time. Kind regards pip.
Homely, amazing views and great value
This isn’t your typical quaint Cornish holiday cottage but we liked it very much. The owner made everything very easy for us with two young children and the house is very comfortable and has beautiful views.
Great property.. Fantastic views and handy location for Penzance centre, station and close to St Michael's Mount.. Lovely comfortable house with fab decor. Extremely well equipped. Owner quick to respond and very helpful on the one little query we had. Thank you
Thankyou Rachel, I am pleased that you found everything comfortable, and had a relaxed holiday, please come again, you will be most welcome. Kind regards, pip
Well cared for, comfortable, relaxing with excellent views of the harbour
Everything we could need was supplied, with kitchen utensils, toilet and shower facilities, bedding and towels. It was very comfortable and relaxing, ideal for our small family. Our daughter enjoyed the bunk beds! It was lovely to see the views of the harbour whenever at all times of the day and night, or look out into the secluded back yard terraced garden. Very quiet too so no noise disturbance.
thankyou nick, you are all very welcome here. next time there will be a new freezer in the utility room, and a few upgrades generally. a hug for helena, i am keeping her drawing, i love it, oh yes, lovely wine too. kind regards, pip
Completely as described. Quiet, unusual, comfortable and quirky property. Loved it.
We stayed here with our dog for a week in March 2018. The property was ideal for us in every way. The field at the back of the property was brilliant for walking the dog !st thing in the morning and last thing at night, but remember to take a torch.
Pip was lovely. Friendly and very easy to communicate with.
Great property and owner.
thankyou jim, very welcome lovely guests. please come again, any time. pip
Very well presented
The property was lovely - very clean and tastefully decorated. Well kitted out kitchen. Make sure you have the key safe code before you set off because we didn't receive it and Pip wasn't around when we arrived. Luckily we knocked at her neighbours and he informed us that the same thing happened last year so he insisted he had the code so we let ourselves in.
We took our Westie with us and there was a card from Pip requesting £25 for extra cleaning for the dog and a donation to a greyhound charity which I feel was a bit steep
oh dear, i apologise for this. i do put the security code on here on receipt of deposit. the donation for the pets, is so that my housekeeper can thoroughly steam clean, as a lot of people are allergic to pet hairs, how ever small the amount. we didn't accept pets at first, but spoke to people in general, and felt that £25 to bring your pet, rather than an unfriendly kennel, at inflated prices, would be acceptable to our holiday makers. thankyou for your review, i hope this explains things. pip
Many of the lands end historical ancient sites are within a few minutes drive, or bus ride away. Local sandy beaches are within view and 10 minutes walk.
Penzance town has historical buildings dating from the days of the armada, pubs and inns dating from 1700. Good food cafes and restaurants including vegetarian. folk music and open mike music nearly every night, just stroll around the town and you are bound to hear music in one of the inns and pubs.
