1 bedrooms, 1 bath
The Lazy Turtle Villa is one of the few beach side villas with private pool on Nevis.
Set between the mountain and the beach, the views are stunning from every room. A private path leads you to the white sands of Nisbet beach. A short walk leads you to Nisbet Plantation, a top rated plantation style inn where you can enjoy excellent dining or simply a cold drink at the casual beach bar. You can set up a tab there for your convenience.
The villa includes a very large porch with 2 hammocks, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, a living room with WIFI, TV, and DVD and just outside is another hammock and gazebo nearby.
Our bedroom features Nevisian style mahogany beds with Egyptian cotton sheets. The master bedroom is air conditioned although most people prefer to fall asleep to the magical tradewinds.
We will pick you up at Nevis airport or on St. Kitts free of charge and bring you home where a rental car will await you. We pride ourselves on our service and convenience.
Tennis: Four Seasons tennis is second to none, with ten courts and ample facilities, services and amenities including night play and professional instruction.
Managed by world-renowned Peter Burwash International, the site comprises four red clay courts (two lit for night play) and six hard courts (three lit for night play). Tennis equipment, apparel and accessories are available from the pro shop, located in the sports pavilion.
The Four Seasons hotel is a short drive away and welcomes our guests for Tennis and Golf (see below). Spa treatments can also be reserved at their world class spa.
Water Sports: Lazy turtle is a short drive from Oualie beach resort. There you will find scuba diving, mountain biking, snorkeling, sunfish sailing, sport fishing boats, a windsurfing school, hobie cats, kayaks and day sailing adventures on yachts and catamarans. You can rent boats, windsurfers and kayaks.
Guided sailing trips can be arranged at this location.
Four Seasons beach club is a 20 minute drive and offers waterskiing, banana boating and tubing.
Adventure sports and other activities: The mountainous terrain and beautiful beaches provide the perfect backdrop for horseback riding, mountain biking and hiking.
We will direct you to some terrific guides who can help share the island with you and create a perfect workout as well!
One of our favorite activities is hiking to plantation ruins. Our kids like to figure out the function of each building they discover.
Climb to the top of Mount Nevis! This is not for the faint of heart and a guide is recommended. This is a stunning hike and the view from the top is well worth the effort!
Wish we could have stayed longer

About Lara Patriquin
We love Nevis! We were lucky enough to find this paradise 18 years ago, when our parents bought property nearby. We bought the house next door to them. They live there in the winter and love to help our guests find out of the way treasures.
Lara Patriquin purchased this villa in 2007
Why Lara Patriquin chose Nevis

Wish we could have stayed longer
My wife and I spent a wonderful week at Lazy Turtle and agree with all the positives mentioned in earlier reviews - location, amenities, the efficiency of Jane and her team, comfort, and just the overall beauty of Nevis. We felt that this was one of the best houses we have rented, and we have rented a lot of cottages and villas over the years. Nisbet Beach was our favorite beach on the island because of its beauty, lack of many people and treasures to be found - shells, driftwood and sea glass. We tried a few of the restaurants on Nevis and all were good, although somewhat pricey. Our favorite was the Gin Trap with a fantastic bar area, fantastic views, and delicious food. I understand the house is on the market. If I was thinking about moving to Nevis, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
We did not want to leave!
We have stayed in many villas throughout the Caribbean and Lazy Turtle was, by far, the BEST Villa we have ever rented! Jane and her Team went above and beyond - starting with the stress free transfer from St. Kitts to the Villa. Everything was already lined up, Daisy, Marlon & Wincent were friendly and on time....a seamless process! The Villa is amazing and so clean you could eat off the floor. Bonnie was there to get us situated and show us around. Carmen visited twice to tidy up and she keeps the Villa in tip top shape! I can't recall ever staying in a villa this clean and well appointed. The gardens, the pool and the view are breathtaking. We spent most of our time at the pool or on the spacious screened in porch relaxing and taking it all in. If I could give Lazy Turtle 10 stars, I would! Nevis and Lazy Turtle are a little slice of heaven and we are already trying to figure out when we can return....and next time we'll stay more than a week! Thank you to Jane and her wonderful Team for making this a truly memorable vacation!
Perfect second honeymoon! Exactly as described.
We spent 1 week in paradise at the Lazy Turtle, celebrating our 30 year wedding anniversary, and my husbands birthday. The house was just as Jane and Lara explained, beautiful and secluded, but close enough to the things we wanted to do. We followed Janes advice and rented a car, which allowed us to explore the island. Had a great time at Sunshines, Bananas, golden Rock, The Lime, Cafe de Arts, and barbecue on the beach at Nisbet Plantation. Went deep sea fishing and caught a Wahoo we were able to cook back at the house. The pool was great, and the short walk to the beach through the yard was lovely. Ventured out to Lovers beach, which we had completely to ourselves. Waves were bigger, very fun, definitely not for weak swimmers or children. Also recommend an island tour-we learned a lot about the island and figured out where we wanted to go back. Would definitely go back.
A December to Remember
My husband and I, along with our 2 young adult children, enjoyed our second visit to Lazy Turtle. This time we stayed for 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas holiday on Nevis. The owner provided a lot of information on things to do and their parents, Ron and Jane, were the perfect hosts. They arranged for our transport from the airport and had the car rental delivered to the house. They truly want to make sure you have a good visit and are available to assist with contacts to arrange outings on the island. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. We loved lounging out on the large screen porch reading and listening to the tree frogs at night. We really love going to the various plantations around the island that are now beautiful hotel resorts to have lunch or dinner. We particularly like Golden Rock and Montpelier. Next door, is Nisbet Plantation, with whom the owners have an arrangement that their guests can open a tab at the plantation, that allowed us to eat over at the beach bar and restaurant. There is a steel drum band that plays for Sunday lunch at Nisbet and the Thursday night dinner and dancing on the beach is a lot of fun. We also enjoyed the other restaurants such as Lime, Sunshines, Gallipot and Bananas. Jane and Ron gave us a personal guided hike to an old plantation site and provided information about other hiking opportunities. On the advice of the owners,we also went zip lining on St. Kitts, which was a blast. While there we also visited Caribelle Batik and the Brimstone Hill Fortress. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation with plenty of time just relaxing by the pool and swimming in the beautiful ocean, as well as, adventuring around the island. We wish we could visit every year and hope to return soon.
Our return to the lovely Lazy Turtle
My husband and I visited Nevis for the first time five years ago, and we loved our stay at the Lazy Turtle. What a perfect location! The beach front and private pool make this cottage really special. The huge screened porch brings the beauty of the tropical foliage, palm trees, and sea views right into the cottage, and ocean breezes bring rest and relaxation as soon as you arrive. Jane is the warmest owner/host we've ever met, and she has everything prepared to make your stay perfect--from your arrival at the airport, to the cottage, and back to the airport on departure. She goes beyond "concierge," and truly treats her guests as family and friends. We got oriented to Nevis with an island tour from Marlon Brando, who also rents vehicles, and we learned of a local place to buy fish as well as fresh produce. We only cooked in the cottage one night, because Nevis has SO many fabulous dining choices, but our dinner was delicious--grilled snapper with a tomato-cucumber salsa. Being next door to Nisbet Plantation is ideal, as you simply set up an account with them and can pop over for lunch or beach front drinks anytime. Definitely go to the Thursday night beach BBQ at Nisbet--live music, dancing, and incredible food, including five types of seafood on the grill. They also serve great breakfasts, which we did once, then we bought breakfast foods at the grocery to last for the week. Our favorite lunch place is Golden Rock Inn---go for the lobster salad, and take your camera for incredible photos of the lush grounds. Another highlight is Bananas---worth it for lunch and again for dinner. Nevis is a lovely little island with an "old Caribbean" feel, and staying at the Lazy Turtle instead of in a hotel lets you enjoy being an islander, if only for a while. We hope to return to Lazy Turtle for another wonderful week. If you go to Nevis, this is the place to stay~enjoy!
Beautiful and Relaxing
We had a wonderful 2 week stay at the Lazy Turtle! The house was clean and well maintained...lots of beach towels which was very helpful. The first week my sister in law was with us and we loved the fact that the bedrooms were more private since they were on opposite sides of the house. We spent much of our time at the house in the great screened in porch in the hammocks or floating in the pool. The only decisions we had to make were whether to go to the beach or the pool first. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms are beautifully remodeled and with the river rock details that made you feel like you were at an extension of the beach. We did use the air conditioning in the main bedroom a few nights since the trade winds were not cooperating, but fans on the porch were all we needed most times. Having a gas BBQ option was great option and we were able to get chicken, shrimp and pork at the market. We were there for the Nevis celebration, so we got to go to several local activities including a beach BBQ a few yards down from the house, a BBQ in town and a parade through town that was colorful and entertaining! The parade started on island time...2 hours late, but the antics before were almost as much fun as the parade itself! The people were friendly and helpful. You are able to walk around and no one is bothering you to buy things and following you around like other islands. Taxi drivers may ask if you need a ride, but are quick to offer directions if you say you have a car.
The owners called to check in to make sure everything was going well and offered many great suggestions on where to go for supplies, good restaurants, and fun activities.
A great low key, relaxing way of life and a wonderful house to enjoy it from.

Activity and Interests
Enjoy the privacy of a beachside villa with the convenience of resort living. We will greet you at the airport _ either in Nevis or St. Kitts _ and a rental car will await you at the villa, should you desire one. Start a tab at the neighboring Nisbet Plantation beach club for award winning meals and beach side drinks. Meals can also be prepared in your fully equipped kitchen.
This is one of few beachfront properties with a pool. It is located on the most desirable part of the island, convenient to the many places Nevis has to explore; hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, biking, golf and tennis and some of the best food in the carribean.
We have been exploring Nevis for over 15 years and would be delighted to share our experiences with you
Golf: The Robert Trent Jones II course at the Four Season Resort is world famous and a short drive away.
The course provides a dramatic view of the Resort, the Caribbean and the neighboring island of St. Kitts.
